Xyris Group Hug

Group Hug:

Xyris, the Writhing Storm seems perfect for Group Hug. I give you cards, you give me Snakes, what's not to love? I wanted to build Xyris, but I wanted to avoid Wheels, because I already have a wheels deck, so I focused on just giving everyone extra card draw. Cards like Well of Ideas , Fevered Visions , Rites of Flourishing , Font of Mythos , Howling Mine , Anvil of Bogardan , Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist , Edric, Spymaster of Trest , Kami of the Crescent Moon , and Mikokoro, Center of the Sea spread the love around.

Snakehoof:

This deck has a Snake tribal sub-theme because having a Snake army is so satisfying! So, I included Snakes like Seshiro the Anointed , Ohran Frostfang , Skullwinder , Kashi-Tribe Elite , Ice-Fang Coatl , and Lotus Cobra . One way to close out games with an army of Snakes is by dropping Craterhoof Behemoth (even more fun if Finale of Devastation is what grabbed Craterhoof). You could also get a big Snake boost with Shared Animosity to kill of the table. A slower but still effective way of whittling down the table, is pairing your Snake ETBs (can be doubled with Parallel Lives ) with Purphoros, God of the Forge , Impact Tremors , or Goblin Bombardment .

Control:

You're giving everyone card draw, you're making Snakes, everything's going great, right? Not exactly, the most dangerous part of playing Group Hug is becoming a King Maker. You don't want to hand your opponents the win, so you need to play some control. Cards like Blasphemous Act , Chaos Warp , Beast Within , Cyclonic Rift , Arcane Denial , Pongify , and Nature's Claim help control the flow of the game.

Lastly, one card I have to highlight is Kindred Discovery , with Xyris out you get to draw a card every time you make a Snake.
