Greenchantress

Casual

Warhammer39999

Maybeboard

Overview:

I've had a couple of iterations of this deck over the years based around drawing a ton of cards by playing enchantments. Most of the earlier decks were slower and prone to mana screw, so this one was tuned down to play faster and more competitive.

Notable Exclusions:

  • Abundance - Decks based around card draw and enchantments that use Sylvan Library typically would include Abundance; however, I've opted to omit it because the deck already has so many ways to draw cards. Additionally, Abundance is a four drop that would weigh this deck down.

  • Verduran Enchantress Earlier incarnations of this deck included this card, but I've opted to omit her here. The rationale is that the Argothian Enchantresses do not work well in decks that play auras, so I could split the Verdurans out to play in another (similar) green enchantment deck built around auras. That deck will most likely include other cards like Yavimaya Enchantress, Aura Gnarlid, Boon Satyr, Gatherer of Graces, Fugitive Druid and maybe even Rabid Wombat

Card Draw and Enchantment/Artifact Removal:

As the decks I make are casual and do not have sideboards, any deck tries to conform to two stipulations: it must be able to deal with artifacts/enchantments (preferably at least two cards) and it should also have some element of card draw. Both of these features should attempt to stay on theme whenever possible.

Win Conditions:

The deck really wins based upon Helix Pinnacle. It turtles behind life gain cards (like Courser of Kruphix and Herald of the Pantheon) until it can setup a true wall with Arboria & Vernal Equinox (plus Burgeoning). That way, you can play all of your cards during your opponent's turn and be immune to attacks/targetting.

The one copy of Words of Wilding is in there to prevent you from decking yourself if you've blown through the cards too quickly.
