First self-constructed EDH deck ever, seeking advice on synergy, harmony (creatures, abilities, removal etc) and mana curve.

The main idea is to get your graveyard filled as soon as possible (Undergrowth) and rotate your cards among library, hand, battlefield and graveyard. In a way, your graveyard becomes like a secondary hand.

This is my first EDH deckbuild. This deck was inspired by the Guilds of Ravnica Vraska Planeswalker deck. The curve is a bit on the low/fast side, but as the graveyard is being rotated with your hand and battlefield this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

This deck consists of the following abilities

  • Undergrowth
  • Deathtouch
  • Threshold
  • Dredge

General weaknesses: flyers and graveyard killers (exile)

Undergrowth (main theme)

Get as many cards in your graveyard as possible to make creatures on the battlefield stronger. Although there are not many common cards with this ability, this is what it set all going.

Cards which work with Undergrowth are:

Vigorspore Wurm

Moodmark Painter

Undergrowth Scavenger

Deathtouch

Creatures with deathtouch are a kind of suicide squad: kill enemies and get rotated back from the graveyard to the hand.

Card which work with deathtouch are:

Ambush Viper

Deadly Recluse

Feral Abomination

Fetid Imp

Maze Abomination

Pitiless Gorgon

Sluiceway Scorpion

Stinkweed Imp

Vampire Champion

Gaze of the Gorgon

Gift of the Deity Awesome on an Erstwhile Trooper, Golgari Rotwurm, Llanowar Elves and Shambling Shell

Threshold

Not the strongest ability, but as your graveyard gets filled, why not take advantage of this?

Cards which work with Threshold are:

Krosan Avenger

Springing Tiger

Werebear

Dredge

Getting your graveyard filled.

Card which work with Dredge are:

Golgari Brownscale

Shambling Shell

Stinkweed Imp

Moldervine Cloak

Getting lands in your hand and cards in your graveyard

These cards get you lands faster and let you put other cards in your graveyard.

Cards which work with this are:

Crow of Dark Tidings

Erstwhile Trooper

Forsaken Drifters

Golgari Rotwurm

Morgue Thrull

Necromancer's Assistant

Windgrace Acolyte

Corpse Churn

Grapple with the Past

Satyr Wayfinder

Vessel of Nascency

Drown in Filth

Benefaction of Rhonas

Kruphix's Insight

Mulch

Scout the Borders

Ghoulcaller's Bell

Shard of Broken Glass

...and get those creatures back from your graveyard

These cards get you creatures back from your graveyard into your hand or even on the battlefield.

Cards which work with this are:

Desecrator Hag

Driver of the Dead

Corpse Churn

Grapple with the Past

Vessel of Nascency

Benefaction of Rhonas

Call to the Netherworld

Kruphix's Insight

Morgue Theft

Mulch

Raise Dead

Scout the Borders

Soul Strings

Unearth

The Cavalry

These cards are meant as finishers. Heavy hitters with trample.

Charging Binox

Colossal Dreadmaw

Feral Abomination

Golgari Rotwurm

Vigorspore Wurm

Removal

The usual suspects...

Doom Blade

Ghastly Demise

Murder

Terror

Victim of Night

Death's Approach

Grim Contest Interesting with deathtouch creatures

Deadly Visit

Miscellaneous

These cards are put in for the following reason(s);

Llanowar Dead Mana fix

Trestle Troll Anti-flyer

Kraul Foragers Extra life

Gnaw to the Bone Couldn't resist with a filled graveyard

Canopy Claws Anti-flyer; can be cast twice

Seton's Desire Pretty handy with deathtouch creatures

Tishana's Wayfinder If only there more commons with explore :/

Bone Harvest / Footbottom Feast Seems like an odd-one out, but I don't know what would happen in long games, whether my library would run-out.

Land

I read somewhere that about 1/3 of a standard EDH deck should be land, so therefore I have 33 lands.

Foul Orchard dual land

Golgari Guildgate dual land

Command Tower Staple in Commander

Jungle Hollow dual land

Golgari Rot Farm Not enthusiastic about this card, more because of flavour.

Equal Forest and Swamp seems justified.
