Maybeboard

A merger of Jund list's from myself and the deck made by UndeadxPenguins. The list has gone through some changes but I think it's around the final list.

General Idea

The main plan is to "Jund out" your opponents by destroying their assents while maintaining your own. This is the essence of out-valuing your opponent.

Starting Hand Explanation

You'll want around 3 lands in your starting hand, some removal and a creature or two or walker or two to start your board.

Breakdown

The creatures in this list help hold value by gaining life, discarding cards, drawing cards, creating tokens, or are removal. Pretty much the best value creatures in the format in colors.

Chevill, Bane of Monsters: Show

Elder Gargaroth: Show

Graveyard Trespasser  : Show

Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger: Show

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse: Show

Legacy Creatures: Show

These are all removal based cards and deal with different threats. Having a good mix of instants and sorceries help balance out the deck.

Abrupt Decay: Show

Assassin's Trophy: Show

Fatal Push: Show

Riveteers Charm: Show

Legacy Instants: Show

These cards along with the instants prove a great variety of removal while maintaining balance of types of spells.

Dreadbore: Show

Thoughtseize: Show

There are two planeswalkers in the deck. They do many things in the deck allowing us to preform multiple actions a turn while supporting the deck as a whole.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance: Show

Liliana of the Veil: Show

Legacy Planeswalkers: Show

The lands in this deck try to allow us to have untapped lands without taking too much pain and to gather all 3 colors for the deck while fitting room for some utility lands and in case we would need to search for a basic. We generally use the shock check manabase with some flip lands and some extras for value. The manabase may take some fine tuning to be perfect cutting one for another down the road.

Blightstep Pathway  : Show

Blood Crypt: Show

Boseiju, Who Endures: Show

Castle Locthwain: Show

Darkbore Pathway  : Show

Dragonskull Summit: Show

Hive of the Eye Tyrant: Show

Lair of the Hydra: Show

Mountain: Show

The sideboard will always go through changes as the meta shifts but this sideboard looks fairly complete at this time.

A more specific sideboard guide depending on match up to help prep for more competitive events. This list helps decide to swap between cards in the main board and the sideboard. If a card comes in against most match ups and a card always comes out (aside from flex slots as they almost always come out) then perhaps that card should be swapped altogether. The order of cards is how much more I would want that card over other cards also being boarded. In this way those cards can be deemed worthy as an inclusion or not due to different decklists. Because decklists fall in and out of meta this list can become outdated very fast, therefore I shall include a date of last edit in the title. Over time I may add decks that may not be meta but decks I have faced and figured out a sideboard plan for.

Round 1: Bye

Technically not a bye. My opponent was in the middle of a Commander game and decided to keep playing.

Round 2: Mono Black Discard

I missed most of this match up but heard the game was won in 2. Assassin's Trophy and Abrupt Decay most likely did work destroying the aces in the deck that deal damage when I have 1 or fewer cards in hand. Tireless Tracker was kept in as well to get more card draw.

Round 3: Orzhov Control

This was a weird match up. Game 1 they played Yorion and was swinging in while I had nothing to play and was swinging with my man land most of the game. I lost that race. Game 2 I sided in hand disruption but was still overcome with value from the many win cons in the deck whereas I drew not much to contend.

Round 4: Bant Spirits

This match up I remember from last week so it wasn't too hard to overcome it. My game plan is to side in hand disruption to get rid of Collected Company and side out planeswalkers and sorcery speed removal as the walkers will die in the air and the sorcery speed removal is too slow. I play to take a card from their hand on my turn then make them respond on their turn from removal to stop their tempo and allow me to do what I want on my turn. I won this match up in 2.
