Commander / EDH Combo Control GU (Simic) Infinite Combo Multiplayer Theme/Gimmick

This deck is about just a boring normal island and totally not a giant Lovecraftian sea monster slumbering beneath the surface. C; When Commander 2018 got revealed I thought this guy was by far the most interesting concept for a commander. Took me quite a while to figure out what to do with him but I've finally got an idea for the deck that I'm satisfied with. The deck breaks down into two main parts: Voltron and Combo. Let's take a look at the first half.

Control

One of the best and most unique things about Arixmethes is that he starts out as a land not a creature, meaning lots of boardwipes such as Damnation have no effect on him. This also means we can abuse our OWN boardwipes to keep control of the board, until it's a good time for Arixmethes to wake up, and this deck has no shortage of those. Cards like Oblivion Stone or even Perilous Vault can be used to effectively control the board while leaving our commander to get his beauty rest.

Once the COAST (get it?) is clear, it's time to RELEASE THE KRAKEN! After Arixmethes has been awoken we have various spells and abilities such as Artful Dodge , Rogue's Passage , or Aqueous Form to simply give him evasion and swing in! With his massive 12/12 body it won't take long to take out an opponent.

Once you have removed the most annoying player/immediate threat it's time to kick the deck into overdrive and close out the game. But how do we accomplish this? While Arixmethes can two shot our opponents with commander damage this is still a slow and risky strategy and it won't work every time. This is where the second half of our deck, "Combo" comes into play.

Combo

One of the best things about Arixmethes is that he taps for (UG) which, turns out when paired with either Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura produces infinite green mana. NOTE Arixmethes must be a creature for this to work. But this strategy can actually work with a couple other creatures in our deck as long as we have at least one island. The other potential engines for this combo are Ley Weaver or Argothian Elder . Once you have gotten infinite mana it's just a matter of casting either Pull from Tomorrow , Genesis Wave or using Thrasios, Triton Hero to draw/play our whole deck and get either Walking Ballista or Goblin Cannon out to machine gun the table.

Another combo in the deck that can do this is Argothian Elder + Maze of Ith or Ley Weaver + Maze of Ith which can be used during the combat step to create infinite mana.

Conclusion

So that's basically it. Please comment, lemme know what you think. I wanted to try something a little different with Arixmethes other than the sea monster tribal decks I've seen so much, and I really wanted to take advantage of him being able to produce infinite mana for some kind of combo. Thanks in advance!

NOTE: Arixmethes is a very strange card, to better explain it or answer any questions you might have I will defer you to the official rulings laid out here
