This is a strict tribal deck, so only Eldrazi creature types were considered for inclusion.

This deck includes: 1. Various ways to reduce mana costs. Examples: Cloud Key, Stone Calendar, Ugin, the Ineffable. 2. Various ways to ramp mana. Examples: Mana Crypt, Mox Opal, Sol Ring. 3. Various ways to untap artifacts. Examples: Manifold Key, Unwinding Clock, Voltaic Key. (This is to help get around the normal untap costs for cards like Mana Vault and Basalt Monolith). 4. A couple of ways to cheat creatures into play cheaper. Examples: Quicksilver Amulet, Temporal Aperture. 5. Crucible of Worlds was also included as a way to replay something like Field of Ruin or Strip Mine, if you want to blow up multiple lands. It also can help to be able to replay lands you may have sacrificed in order to play lands like Lotus Vale or Lotus Field, or to replay lands that sacrifice themselves for an effect, such as Buried Ruin or Throne of the High City.

If you wanted to switch it up, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth could be replaced as the Commander by any of the other included Legendary Eldrazi in the deck: Emrakul, the Promised End, Kozilek, the Great Distortion, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.
