Sideboard

Maybeboard

This is a fast deck meant to ramp quickly into a hard-to-answer threat. The dream is: 1 drop creature; 2 drop ramp; turn 3 Lodestone Golem. We then play beatdown with a bunch of small flyers and Throne of the God-Pharaoh. With the golem down and and a Mausoleum Wanderer, it becomes expensive to take out our threats even with cheap answers.

To hedge our bets against poor draws, we have Artificer's Assistant and Smuggler's Copter. These two cards provide us with a way to ensure we have the right answers and threats as soon as possible. Oboro, Palace in the Clouds let's us return it to hand if we need to pick up a card with the copter.

At the top end of our curve, we have a Wurmcoil Engine and Walking Ballista. The former is just a big creature that we can put down on turn 3 with a good draw. The latter gives us some additional interaction with our opponents deck. It allows us to take out annoying creatures and planeswalkers and, in a pinch, gives us a bit of reach if our beat down plan is just a bit short.

The sideboard is still a work in progress, unfortunately. Our golem is useless against affinity and should probably be replaced with creatures that actually affect the other player's board. Valakut and Merfolk are apparently weak match-ups as well. More testing is needed.
