Winds of Rath

Sorcery

Destroy all creatures that aren't enchanted. They can't be regenerated.

Easy upvote, love the name and the deck! If you're looking for a boardwipe I'd definitely recommend Winds of Rath, it will usually be a one sided board wipe since you have so many cheap auras.

I have a GW aura deck helmed by Ellivere, if you have any aura or support suggestions I'd love to hear em!

Hi there! Have you had a chance to play this deck irl at all yet? Do you have a set budget in mind per card, or overall for the deck? I have a few suggestions for potential additions as well as some likely swaps:

  • Sigarda's Aid - Super helpful to cheat Equip costs, as they can get mana intensive

  • Dismantling Wave / Wear / Tear - Can maybe replace Austere Command as a slightly faster options to deal with multiple artifacts/enchantments at once, and also because you can likely afford to run 1-2 fewer board wipes.

  • Forge Anew - Some more excellent new equipment support.

  • Frodo, Determined Hero - Excellent attacker that can skip on equip costs for himself.

  • Generous Gift - Is a versatile removal option since it can also destroy lands. The 3/3 Elephant token is fairly irrelevant in the grand scheme of an EDH game.

  • Promise of Loyalty - Can likely replace Slash the Ranks. I've played this in a Voltron Aura deck a couple years ago, and found it to be super helpful since it kept some heat off me while I swung away as everyone else was in rebuild mode. This is also a bit better than Slash the Ranks since the sacrifice removal gets around Indestructible, and destroy effects don't

I think you can remove Winds of Rath since your deck isn't really running any Aura enchantments to have your creatures benefit from.

Mortlocke on Sigarda Voltron Deck? TOO MANY …

I'm very familiar with Sigarda, Host of Herons as im one of the aforementioned pilers who want to stop the Volton nightmare from coming online. Stax is the key. Build the deck anticipating the animosity from the table by incorporating cards like Crawlspace, Silent Arbiter, Karmic Justice, Ghostly Prison, and Winds of Rath.

Just gotta be more hostile to make people think twice.

Update!

Out: Wayfarer's Bauble

Back In: Winds of Rath

Swapped Winds of Rath back in but had to remove something so it was Wayfarer's Bauble.

Update!

Out: Winds of Rath

In: Luminarch Ascension

In order to keep the secondary strategy of going wide with Angel tokens, I decided to swap out a board wipe with an enchantment with huge payoffs. In as early as four turns, we can start making Angel tokens to ensure we have blockers. If this card doesn't work as planned, Winds of Rath will likely go back in.

Hiya! I've got a few concerns with the list. The major one is the fact that you have almost no card draw in your deck. I only counted 3 cards that could generate you card advantage, so I worry that your deck will run out of gas and/or can get blown out really easily by a board wipe. The other is some rather interesting card choices. A few examples: You play Winds of Rath in the deck, but you only play a pair of auras. Slash the Ranks seems like a cool card, but this deck seems to want more creatures on board than just your commanders, so it feels like a non-bo too. You've also got a lot of equipment and synergies to go with it, but your commanders don't really encourage equipment. Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist is probably better for that. Akroma + Rograhk wants you to go wide with aggressively costed key-worded creatures. So I would suggest cutting by a lot on the equipment synergies as well as cutting a lot of your high-cmc creatures and getting more low-cost key-worded creatures along with ways to protect them and ways to rebuild when you get blown out. And of course, more card draw.
