Suggestions

Tear Asunder better removal

Drown in Ichor cool removal idea

Viridian Betrayers is bad outside of draft I think. Could be any infect creature

Lay of the Land is Strictly worse Dig Up or Thirsting Roots

I think there are a few new cool creatures that improve your plan like Bloated Contaminator or other creatures with toxic.

Happy brewing.

As someone who loves infect, I have to say your list has waaaaaaaaaay too many creatures and lands. Even slower versions like mine, a Monoblack one, run around 12 creatures + 4 Inkmoth Nexus. Infect is a strong mechanic. So, in order to make it balanced, WOTC made the creatures really bad, which is why it's usually a bad idea to run this many of them. And 28 lands is asking to get mana flooded

Nevertheless, I'll give my suggestions without trying to chance to core ideia of the deck. If playing this was is how you have fun and it works for you and your friends, then I just want to help you make it better without modifying its core.

If you want me to give you suggestions more aligned with how Infect is normally played, tell me and I'll be happy to help. I just wanted to respect your deckbuilding style as much as possible with these.

Mortlocke on New hubs to be added

Hello legendofa,

I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

So, the first thing to do is make sure there are enough lands in the deck. A four color deck with multiple mana sinks is going to need 38 lands. If the mana curve is lowered by these edits, then a case could be made for 37, but for now it’s best to aim for 38.

This means 7 cards have to be cut. These cards should not come from necessary categories, since some of those actually need more.

  1. Viridian Betrayers is way too easy to kill and block in the late game, and will often not have infect during the early game, which is really the only time it can do good work.

  2. Flensermite is too little impact for the cost. The Lifelink isn’t worth it and there are plenty of other cheap infect creatures.

  3. Followed Footsteps is something I always want to work, but it hardly ever does because it is so easy to deal with. It can be dealt with using anything that can destroy enchantments OR creatures, or even something that flickers or returns a creature to your hand. On top of that, you don’t even get your first token until your next turn. You should check out Helm of the Host if you really like that effect.

  4. Necropede doesn’t have a good enough pay off, and you have other better two drops with infect. This also doesn’t have evasion. Early game you might not play it right away to ramp instead, and then it gets blocked easily by turn 3 and beyond. The extra -1/-1 counter isn’t necessary when every infect creature can give them just the same.

  5. Ichorclaw Myr, pretty much for the same reasons as Necropede.

  6. Spinebiter costs way too much for what it does. It may be able to get through and get someone by surprise, but probably only once. It takes too much set up, and there are only a few ways in the deck to make sure it raises it’s power or can attack right away. This may be something to revisit later if you find ways to use it more effectively, but so many of the other infect creatures are more efficient or way more powerful.

  7. Core Prowler is too expensive for what it does and there are way better ways to proliferate reliably in the deck.

These 7 cuts will bring you to 38 land slots.

If you have more money, and would like a better, blue splashed path replace Cystbearer with Blighted Agent and swap Viridian Betrayers with either Vines of Vastwood or Might of Old Krosa. Also side note, in order for it to be about 5-6$ be sure to optimize your cart on TCGplayer.

Why are you only running 2 Glistener Elf? Why 4 Blight Mamba? Why 2 Thrummingbird and Viridian Betrayers at all? Ichorclaw Myr is under a dollar, and its way better than the Bird or betrayers. Also, look at Necropede.

An alternate to Distortion Strike would be Slip Through Space, the card draw is usually better than rebound.

Drop Steady Progress all together dude. 3 mana for a poison counter and a single draw? And thats only if you have poison on your opponent.

Lower the overall mana curve. Too many 2 drops. Infect is about being blazingly fast, not a midgame deck with no tools to fight at all.

1-2 Apostle's Blessing in SB would do you well, too.

These are all budget options.
