Treasure Keeper

Artifact Creature — Construct

When Treasure Keeper dies (is put into the graveyard from the battlefield), reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card with converted mana cost/mana value 3 or less. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Put all revealed cards not cast this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.

2ND ROUND OF CHANGES:

REMOVED: Temple of Deceit, Temple of Enlightenment, Temple of Silence, Tempered Steel, Liquimetal Torque, Scholar of New Horizons, Thopter Shop, Sphinx's Revelation, Bident of Thassa, Alela, Artful Provocateur, Etched Champion, Armix, Filigree Thrasher, Myr Battlesphere, Filigree Attendant, Vedalken Humiliator, Tawnos, Solemn Survivor, Losheel, Clockwork Scholar, Marionette Master, Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, Ethersworn Adjudicator, Indomitable Archangel

ADDED: Glimmervoid, Power Depot, Forsaken Monument, Mind Stone, Darksteel Ingot, Hedron Archive, Dance of the Mance, Thoughtcast, Thirst for Knowledge, Master Transmuter, Lodestone Golem, Research Thief, Treasure Keeper, Mycosynth Golem, Myr Retriever, Sculpting Steel, Mechtitan Core, Mystic Forge, Dispeller's Capsule, Dispatch, Burnished Hart

COMMENTS: Deck feels powerful, but one dimensional in that it's just trying to pump out big dumb creatures asap; kinda cool. I've played 3-4 times with the current iteration and I'm looking to speed the deck up a little bit; lands coming in tapped, not quite enough draw, and too many non-artifact creatures being the two major areas of focus. I've actually reduced the amount of creatures with this round of changes so I need to check that this is OK.

Lands probably need more work, still too many tapped lands by far. Scholar of New horisons is fine, just doesn't fit in the deck, same with Tawnos (who likely needs his own deck, but I have done a few cool things with him). Tempered Steel, Indomitably Archangel and Ethersworn Adjudicator were hard cuts. But I've added removal, ramp in so I want to see if that's better. Tempered Steel with the thopters was particularly good and may get added in.

jeannieboef I think Treasure Keeper is a bit too much of a wild card for me, but it's definitely something you could play around with.

At CMC4 it's also a bit costly for my purposes, but I do like cards like Shifting Shadow and similar effects as a means to generate advantage. The benefit of shifting shadow however is that you can hit any CMC and that it only hits creatures, which is usually what you'll want anyway.

If you want to run it I would probably replace Imperial Recruiter (for budget purposes) or Watcher for Tomorrow since they have the most similar effects.

LeoSushi - thanks for the input. I really like Treasure Keeper and Throne of Geth , they seem like a solid options. I looked at Marionette Master when I was putting it together but I didn't like the high CMC and BB in the mana cost. I ended up going with Noxious Gearhulk instead, but I can try out Marionette Master and see which I like better.

Carrion/Viscera/Bombardment are all good sac outlets, but don't really fit the flavor I am after with the deck. Same is true with the graft creatures. I'm positive they would be good additions to a normal Marchesa/counter build, but I want to keep it artifact/affinity flavored, even if the deck is a little worse for it.

Thanks again for the feedback, I appreciate the help :)

I've been honing a marchesa deck for about a year, and the best cards I can suggest are the graft creatures you can run. Vigean Graftmage , Cytoplast Manipulator , and Novijen Sages are the best 3 (They keep counters on important things, and protect your commander). In the modular build specifically, some fantastic cards to consider are Treasure Keeper , Marionette Master , and Throne of Geth . I'd also highly suggest running some low-cost sac outlets to make sure nothing goes to waste Carrion Feeder , Viscera Seer , Goblin Bombardment , and Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer are the best ones lowest on the curve.

Decisive on Urza, Budget as I Can Get

And Foundry Inspector over Treasure Keeper . Keeper has to die to get the trigger, and that isn't always guaranteed whilst Inspector provides a passive cost reduction to most of the deck. It's also pretty cheap.

Another suggestion would be Grafdigger's Cage replacing Ensoul Artifact . Ensoul Artifact doesn't seem like a good fit as making an artifact bigger doesn't seem to do much to help Urza, whilst stopping graveyard strategies is a big upside to prevent opponents from winning.

Played the first two games last night.
Game one: The deck proved very resilient for the most part. The exception was global graveyard hate coming from one player. We all ganged up on him and the deck pulled through for the win. Game two: The deck stalled at three mana and a Maze of Ith until it was too late for a comeback. I might need to add some smaller mana-rocks or dorks to speed things up. The deck might also need a little balance toward low-cost artifacts to swap out.
