How does the deck play out? Are the Hymn to Tourach disruptive enough to keep opponent's from destroying your creatures?

If you are looking for more tools for the deck I would suggest adding some instant speed protection for your non-mortivore creatures. Maybe Golgari Charm since it follows the regeneration style and is modal. Heroic Intervention is also good. If you are looking for combat tricks some good ones are Gaze of the Gorgon because it will kill something after it saves your creatures. In the same spirit, Back for More is in flavor with the deck. While in the graveyard your creatures add to your goyf counts. And then at instant speed you can return one and potentially kill something with the fight trigger. Status / Statue is not a bad card for a casual deck. It is modal, and adds death touch or enchantment kill to the deck.

Finally, I have to second Deadbridge Chant if slowing the deck down a little does not hurt your deck given your local meta. It provides card advantage and makes a deck extremely resilient during mid-long games.

A great card for green is Into the Wilds you get to look at the top card of your library upkeep if it is a land put it on the battlefield best part does not count as your land played for your turn so filters your land + can be ramp oh and is like 25cents

Abundance is another variation of filtering your deck also green

Den Protector budget eternal witness

Echoing Truth flexible bounce because if it is tokens it hits all the same tokens

Creature exile Reality Shift Crib Swap

Look at charms some are cheaper than others some will fit budgets some may not but see example below Sultai Charm

More removal Status / Statue Turn / Burn

Shenanigans Reins of Power ignore the $5 ones someone is trying to rip people off outside those they are all 50-85 cents

Polymorphist's Jest

Look for value creatures like Savage Ventmaw Giant Killer Steel Hellkite

Thanks DirtNastyLow. I meant to put Splinterfright in the "if you have a few extra bucks..." section but forgot. I could maybe see playing one copy of Gnaw to the Bone but you really want to minimize the non-creature spells in this deck in order to get the most out of your graveyard. I might even sub in something like Ravenous Chupacabra for Status / Statue if you've got a couple extra bucks.

Bit late here, but Status / Statue needs a defender too!

Do me a favor. Grab one of your Commander decks at random, and tell me how much Artifact and Enchantment hate is in it. Then count how many artifacts are in it.

On my side, for my Thelon of Havenwood deck, I have Casualties of War , Status / Statue , Putrefy and Abrupt Decay . Yes, they can take out those cards, but that's not their primary use. Each of those also takes out Creatures, which is their primary use. In colours that are really good at taking out Creatures, Artifacts and Enchantment. As for my artifacts, Golgari Signet , Golgari Locket , Lifecrafter's Bestiary and Coat of Arms . None of which even come close to being cards that require dedicated removal. Not even a Sol Ring because it doesn't do what I need.

Well, I take that back with Coat of Arms . That can get overboard. Especially in a dedicated Tribal deck like that one.

My point stands. Cards that require a response are, by definition, format warping. Paradox Engine required a response because it was too powerful, and warping. So did the Prophet. And with those out, Vedalken Orrery is the next best thing, as you so cheerfully point out.

And as for my comment about mono-? You have it backward. I chose my example, not that person.

Blood for Bones , Molderhulk , Moldervine Reclamation , Midnight Reaper , Status / Statue , Deathsprout

Note one blood for bones: you can return the creature you just sacrificed and it triggers etb.

I love the deck. I playtested some, and came up with the following:

  1. The deck needs a way to protect Wilderness reclamation from enchantment removal. +3 Negate and -1 Status / Statue -1 Forced Landing -1 Vraska's Contempt in SB to account for it.
  2. The Vraska's Contempt is really important though, so I'd move the 1 copy to Main and maybe drop an Incubation / Incongruity .
  3. The Callous Dismissal played very well, and while I wasn't thrilled with it when I initially reviewed the decklist, I really like it after playing. The bounce is nice on the ooze if nothing else or to recharge a Vivien, and of course helps a lot before an attack.
  4. Frilled Mystic is great in any Wilderness Reclamation deck, since it Flashes even without Vivien and protects the Reclamation while still being a body. I'm not sure what to drop for it, maybe -1 Thief of Sanity and -1 Hostage Taker to get at least 2 of them in and see what you think of them. They have been a 4-of in every Bant Flash deck I have tested.

Overall I really like your theme on it. This is the first Sultai mix I've seen, and the removal is something the Bant mix really misses. Nice work.
