Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord

Legendary Planeswalker — Sorin

As long as it's your turn, creatures and planeswalkers you control have lifelink.

+2: Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord deals 1 damage to target player or planeswalker.

-X: Return target creature with converted mana cost X from your graveyard to the battlefield. That creature is a Vampire in addition to its other types.

This thread is long do i’m sure it’s already been mentioned, but Teleportation Circle feels really slow/suboptimal, especially compared to stronger options like Soul Herder and Thassa, Deep-Dwelling.

Other cards i’m skeptical of are Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord (really slow and doesn’t do much), Murderous Rider (you gain nothing from blinking it, and you already run loads of disruption), Archfiend of the Dross (i don’t see how a big dumb beatstick helps your gameplan here), and Glorious Protector (i get what you’re trying to do with her, but its just such a slow and clumsy play. Having playtested her myself, i just don’t see the value. Maybe its fine as a 1-or-2-of, but 3 seems excessive)

I feel like Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord has more vampire synergy than Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord.

Removal stapled onto a creature like Skyclave Apparition seems strong here even if it isn't a vampire, because unlike removal spells it triggers Welcoming Vampire.

I feel like Vampire of the Dire Moon is a more relevant one drop creature for vampires than Skymarcher Aspirant. Being a 10 turn instead of 20 turn clock is an obvious downside, but the life total swing of 2 is the same, lifegain helps you stabilize, and it has deathtouch to trade with a bigger creature.

Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose combos well with the lifegain, yes but, the triggers of Bastion of Remembrance have a net effect that is identical without the non-drawable effect for creatures of Enduring Renewal. Also, if it goes to the graveyard it would not synergize with Abiding Grace or Proclamation of Rebirth. Then, the only way to play it is if it was already in your hand or on the battlefield before Enduring Renewal comes into play, or you play it using the ability from Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord. I specifically excluded creatures that cost more than 1 so they could be economically reanimated in this way.

If we were to swap it one for one with Bastion of Remembrance for the sake of comparison, we also lose the synergistic ability to 'Dead Reckoning style' tutor it from your graveyard to the top of your library like you would be able to do with Bastion of Remembrance + Hall of Heliod's Generosity .

The great thing about this deck is that there are 4 cards that give you infinite life, 4 that give you infinite win conditions of one kind or another, and another one that does both for a total of 9 possible trigger cards. The trick then is to have at least 1 of them and get one of the 7 creature pieces and one of the Enduring Renewals as fast and efficiently as possible. For this reason I cut back on my initial build of 4 each of the Wardens primarily in favor of general tutors. I had to give up triggers to more reliably find missing pieces, usually the Renewal since by then I likely had one of the creatures in hand or in the graveyard, but not always which is why most of the tutors find more than just Enchantments.

I like what you have going here - which appears to be some upgrades to the 2017 pre-con. I also did this and can tell you that upgrading the lands is a game-changer in regards to putting vampires onto the battlefield quicker. But as you know, lands are expensive.

Some cheaper upgrades I'd recommend are: Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord, Embercleave, Vanquisher's Banner and Bontu's Monument. I threw those in my upgraded deck and they're very useful.

Here's a link to mine if you'd like to peek at it for ideas. Again, ignore the price tag because I upgrade all of the lands with cards I already owned.

If you are looking for more lifegain sources Vault of the Archangel might be a nice add for this deck. Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord gives everything lifelink during your turn.
