Regal Leosaur

Creature — Dinosaur Cat

Mutate (If you cast this spell for its mutate cost, put it ontop or underneath target non-Human creature you own. They mutate into the creature that is on top and that creature has all the abilities of every card that is underneath it.)

Whenever this creature mutates, other creatures you control get +2/+1 until end of turn.

Regal Leosaur remains face up on the bottom of the stack, and contributes all abilities to the resulting permanent. The permanent is considered to be face-down even though Regal Leosaur is face up because the top card is face down. It still has the "Whenever this creature mutates" ability, so it will trigger properly. To turn it face up you can pay to end the Manifest effect or to pay for Morph, but you ignore all text on Regal Leosaur other than the text box, so it's mana cost can't alter either of these costs in any way.

Example: Mutating Regal Leosaur and placing it under a manifested card, say Akroma, Angel of Fury. From my understanding, after casting, the Leo enters face down because top card is face down, so I believe the "Whenever this creature mutates" ability can't trigger. From this point forward, could Akroma, Angel of Fury be flipped for 2 mana at any time?

Animal Sanctuary Would be very good. Also, I recommend mainboarding Titanic Ultimatum, Immolating Souleater, Regal Leosaur, Temur Sabertooth, and some creatures with changeling. I would take out Ainok Bond-Kin, Encampment Keeper, and Two-Headed Cerberus, if I were you. I also recommend Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives, and Prowling Serpopard. This should also give you some ideas: https://edhrec.com/commanders/rin-and-seri-inseparable

I would definitely add Triumph of the Hordes and some Pump spells for combat tricks

as for mutaty creatures Huntmaster Liger would be neat. Mysterious Egg would help pump Necropanther can help with recursion. Regal Leosaur for another pump. Vulpikeet is kinda heafty (as are a lot of these) but can help pump.

I believe if you mutate your creatures will maintain that infect keyword.

I hope this helps you at least a tad.

I see your comments on restricting the colors. That's fair. I do like Pollywog Symbiote as a mutate enabler. It's let me mutate Vadrok on turn 3, discarding a card via looting that I then immediately cast with Vadrok.

I feel like the biggest things missed by giving up white are 3 more 3 mana mutates in Vulpikeet, Huntmaster Liger, and Regal Leosaur, and the sillyness that is using Vadrok to cast Sevinne's Reclamation from the graveyard for it's copy trigger but without exiling it.

Good luck and have fun!

Lets say I play a Tenacious Dead and then mutate it with a Regal Leosaur; What happens when the creature dies?

Do I get one trigger or two? (Do I pay 2 mana or 4?)

I assume they come back into play as separate creatures?
