Great question, seshiro_of_the_orochi! When I initially built this some 10 years ago Thoughtseize was indeed kept out due to it's price point. It was quite a staple at the time in Standard during Theros block too!
But the main reason it doesn't come in nowadays is the life point defecit for casting. With the speed of Modern and the very precarious position life can be in at the end of a game every 2 life points matter.
Inquisition of Kozilek and Extirpate both fill a similar outcome to Thoughtseize. If someone were looking to use it however I would say you could drop Cry of Contrition and a single Raven's Crime to put three of them into the deck :)

Some thoughts:
-
the deck really needs the playset of Hedron Crab to help get the engine going - there’s a reason thus archtype is most-often called “crabvine”.

you need the full playset of Stinkweed Imp.

Rotting Rats, Grisly Salvage, Life from the Loam and Raven's Crime are all fairly bad here in that they’re relatively slow/clumsy for the deck (and a lot of them don’t proc the Vengevine reanimation triggers). Good replacements for those cards include the full playset of Satyr Wayfinder, as well as Merfolk Secretkeeper, Otherworldly Gaze, and maybe The Ancient One

Ok, so here's a few top picks (imho) for Tergrid, God of Fright Flip.
Oppression, Liliana, Waker of the Dead, Rankle, Master of Pranks, Living Death, Delirium Skeins, Innocent Blood, Cunning Lethemancer, Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists, Words of Waste, Smokestack, Sword of Feast and Famine & Chains of Mephistopheles (just proxy it lol)
There's also a lot of cheaper options that are just as synergistic like Plaguecrafter, Demon's Disciple, Raven's Crime, Hymn to Tourach, Mind Twist, Mind Shatter, Mind Slash & Sadistic Hypnotist.
Outside of the synergy pieces, I'd recommend replacing some of those low-power pieces like Bad Deal & Inevitable End with value pieces like Dark Ritual & Vampiric Tutor for greater consistency.

I really love the Groundskeeper synergy with Raven's Crime to end games and i think youre totally right with Arboreal Grazer being great considering how many lands we have in hand

What's the specific win condition? I don't see a ton of removal or evasive creatures, and while there's good beef here, it's either mana-heavy or reliant on Adventuring Gear. Raven's Crime + recursion is solid control, so that would help.

Since you run 24 lands, I feel like you could get some good mileage out of Raven's Crime, I personally think it's a good x1 or x2 in a a discard deck that runs plenty of lands.
