No worries, I figured we all place different emphasis on those non-token creatures. I mostly like Scapegoat since it can help dodge removal that typically gets around Indestructible.

Ojer Taq, and the design for the other Ixalan deities is really cool and flavorful. I like how they turn into their places of worship, compared to the Devotion stuff we saw in Theros. I was thinking of doing Ojer Axonil, & building it as like Goblins & group slug effects.

The two mono-White commanders I brewed in the past year were Preston, the Vanisher and Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. I pulled a Mom Norn about a year ago, and it's just been sitting in my White Binder lol.

Crow_Umbra on Alesha and her Nazgul

Glad to see a new twist on Alesha. She was one of my first favorite commanders before I repurposed her deck into Isshin.

In reading your deck's description, I will caution against having Alesha be your primary reanimator effect. I think she works as best as an additional reanimator option, but not the one the deck relies on to function.

As a back up plan, I'd say check out Echoing Return as a way to get some Nazgul back to your hand, although back to battlefield would be most ideal. If it's in your budget, I'd also recommend checking out Preston, the Vanisher as an option to get some token copies of creatures you reanimate.

You could also potentially do some combo loops with Nazgul + Ratadrabik of Urborg + a sac outlet like Altar of Dementia. As long as the Nazgul is your Ring-Bearer when the Ring Tempts You, you can then sac it, and Ratadrabik will create token copies, which will let you start the cycle all over again.

MrNoCards on MOM, I Made You a Deck [Primer v1.0]

Bob_Spaghet The secret commander of this deck is Preston, the Vanisher. That bunny enables so many funny shenanigans! I am adding Ranger-Captain of Eos to the maybe board for now as I do not own it. I will likely proxy it for playtesting after I figure out what to remove.

Of course! I have a Preston, the Vanisher deck that does similar things so I have explored this card pool quite a lot. Another card worth a look would be Ranger-Captain of Eos to grab your soul sisters or Mother of Runes and sac later to protect yourself from counterspells.

Delphen7 on Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward + …

You can link cards by enclosing them in double brackets [ ].

This just makes it easier for everyone to know what's happening :)

Since they are exiled until the permanent returns, they will not be exiled by the trigger of the permanent you put into the graveyard as a result of the legend rule.

This is usually found on the rulings of the cards themselves, but Abdel apparently doesn't have it, so here are some similar cards.

Chained to the Rocks

  • "If Chained to the Rocks leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, the target creature won't be exiled. (2013-09-15)"

Suspension Field

  • "If Suspension Field leaves the battlefield before its enters-the-battlefield ability resolves, the target creature won’t be exiled. (2014-09-20)"

Hixus, Prison Warden

  • "If Hixus leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, the creature that dealt combat damage to you won’t be exiled. (2015-06-22)"

Grasp of Fate

  • "If Grasp of Fate leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, no nonland permanents will be exiled. (2015-11-04)"

I think Cloudform and Lightform are probably too slow. Spirited Companion and Skyclave Apparition seem to fit those slots better. Some other considerations for this style of deck are Lae'zel's Acrobatics, Farewell, Solitude, Recruiter of the Guard, Thassa, Deep-Dwelling, Soulherder, Preston, the Vanisher, Ephemerate, and Conjurer's Closet.

Tome of Legends I will definitely try out, a good 2 mana colorless draw engine is hard to find.

Preston, the Vanisher does have a nice ETB doubler but Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines fills much a similar role. I still haven't figured out which card I can remove from the list, that's the hardest part lmao.

Kaya, Intangible Slayer has really nice abilities and you can use all 3 immediately. Planeswalkers work well in a deck full of board wipes and the card draw for 0 is really nice, the scry one for the opponents is political and not too advantageous.

I love Orzhov because of the 'Death and Taxes' theme. I go easy on the 'taxes' so that opponents worry about each other more than myself. The Gain and Drain is what I use to offset the life loss from artifacts and enchantments and card draw, I avoid increasing the cost of spells since I require fast mana to operate. The 'Death' aspect manifests itself in the form of board wipes and creatures meant to be played directly after a board wipe, most creatures I play offer a lot of value individually to control the board alone or in combination. I am a sucker for either Elesh Norn or cards like Ethereal Absolution.

I checked out your Obzedat deck, it looks like you have a lot of high synergy within your deck. I would recommend Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite because of the group buff/opponents debuff, playgroups tend to hate that card though.

Other card to think about would be:

Many of those came from my Karador deck, which has a similar creature ETB playstyle. I listed many with the hope at least one will be helpful. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees value in this commander still!

Hi Spaghetti! You're one of the few people on here who still update their Obzedat decks frequently. I also have an Obzedat deck, it's my oldest and probably my favorite deck I own, but we both have completely different strategies which is good fun.

I love your approach to the build!

My deck is linked here if you wanna check it out, mines an Orzhov ETB deck, but it has a similar strategy of pacing the game down and punishing opponents. Link (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/juggled-to-death/)

Shadrix Silverquill is sick, I should maybe try to squeeze that in for more card advantage.

Have you considered Tome of Legends? Card is insane value with Obzedat entering the battlefield every turn. It might be worth running over Mazemind Tome. Another great card you might like is Preston, the Vanisher. You get an extra Obzedat ETB trigger every turn, but it does suck that you have to sac the copy to legend rule. It's deffinitly better in mine as an ETB deck, but it could be fun in your deck too.

I see you have Kaya, Intangible Slayer in your maybe board, I was thinking about adding Kaya to mine too, the hexproof is nice, but it's so much mana!

Anyways, glad to see another Obzedat playing in todays EDH scene, there aren't a lot of us due to the overwhelming popularity of other Orzhov commanders.
