New Prahv Guildmage

Creature — Human Wizard

WU: Target creature gains flying until end of turn.

3WU: Detain target nonland permanent an opponent controls. (Until your next turn, that permanent can't attack or block and its activated abilities can't be activated.)

Definitely needs to be more focused. Right now it's all over the place, and has a ton of singletons which is usually a dead giveaway that the deck is trying to do too much at the same time (I assume this might be because the deck was made up of your paper collection?).

I'd first take out all the cards that definitely don't synergize, and cards that don't do enough. All the artifacts, Traverse the Ulvenwald , Karametra's Acolyte , New Prahv Guildmage , Realmwright , Vorel of the Hull Clade fall under this.

Next you should get rid of the really slow cards: Lavinia of the Tenth , Medomai the Ageless , Mind Control , etc.

Now, what do you want the deck to be? Do you want a bant midrange deck? A bant taxes deck more focused on creatures? A dedicated +1/+1 counter deck? A creature toolbox deck? Knowing what direction you want your deck to go is always the first step to get out of the way before you actually start building it. I doubt you actually want a control deck because a dedicated control deck would have none of these creatures, and a bunch of counterspells and removal (while this deck only has one of each). Once you have that sorted out, it's a lot easier for people to give suggestions on your deck, because right now most people would just be really confused and give up after a few minutes.

I think this deck needs some more damaging creatures. You have a lot of cards that detain creatures, and you can pretty well shut down your opponent, but it won't do anything if you can't damage them while they are detained. Really you could just add any card you want that can get off plenty off damage. The other thing you could do is add two more Azor's Elocutors, and just wait out till you have enough filibuster counters. If you were to go this way, I would reccommend adding Pacifism or Claustrophobia, since the other player could play more creatures than you can handle, and this would make it much easier. Some cards that I would take out in exchange for these would be the Inaction Injunction, since it is the same thing as lyev decree, but it doesn't detain as much. Also the New Prahv Guildmage is not very useful because it is a really expensive detain, and all your creatures have flying, so it doesn't do that well. I would also switch out the Azorius Chancery for something like an Azorius Guildgate or a Glacial Fortress, since the Chancery completely limits your second turn. Besides this, I think you have the making of a really good deck, especially with how cheap it is. I think that with just a little tweaking, you can make this pretty good.

freakingShaneI noticed i only had 59 cards. I took out one New Prahv Guildmage as well as one Banisher Priest an as a result fit in 3 Path to Exile. Also do you have and recommendations on the land situation or should that work fine?

I was a bit confusing in some of my wording. I meant creature removal for Thalia's Lieutenant, not the resonator. Strionic Resonator is ok here with the various triggers around from Brimaz to GST, I'm not really hating on that.

Maybe I should've summed up that bucket of spew earlier... 3 IN: New Prahv Guildmage (or other nearby suggestions), Brave the Sands, Spear of Heliod --- 3 OUT: Chasm Skulker, Call to Mind, Burnished Hart/Thalia's Lieutenant

But, hey, tiny leaders isn't exactly a specialty of mine, I run thematic versions of Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Varolz, the Scar-Striped.

I broke out my GST deck and looked again at this.Am just curious:

Spear of Heliod gives anthem and plays a little defense.

There are quite a few cards I like in your list that I don't yet have, like Invocation of Saint Traft and Godsend.

Cards I'm not sure of: Chasm Skulker feels unsynergistic without extra draw effects and a token theme with Phantom General or something. -- Thalia's Lieutenant is okay with a few other humans, but would feel better with a more widespread theme to support it. I see the Strionic Resonator, but every deck I know carries removal for just such a creature. -- Is Call to Mind really good with only four other inst/sorcs in the deck? -- I haven't played with Burnished Hart, but sinking 6 mana into the effect feels questionable to me?

WhiteWeasel on Building a budget Voltron

So due to being less than thrilled with my Bant Token deck, I was thinking about rejigging it to be a voltron deck since my commander; Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker is pretty good at powering themselves up since I often play multiple opponents in my local magic group, and was considering of changing it to a new theme.

Cards I own

I For control and disruption I have plenty of control cards like Convolute, Counterspell, Simic Charm, Spell Rupture, etc... Disruption includes Divine Reckoning, Pacifism, Diminish, Paralyzing Grasp, Rapid Hybridization, Defang, Cage of Hands As well as stuff that trashes enchantments and Artifacts.

For powering up my commander my Artifact pool is less than ideal, had to work with what I got. They include Trailblazer's Boots, Fireshrieker, Skyblinder Staff, Ring of Evos Isle, Grafted Exoskeleton, and Livewire Lash.

Enchantments and effects for protecting my commander and/or giving them evasion include: Infiltrator's Magemark, Holy Mantle, Guildscorn Ward, Alpha Authority, Ghostform, Sheltering Word, Survive the Night, Haze of Pollen, Shielded Passage, Rogue's Passage etc...

Mana Ramp: Assume all of my mana rocks in the bant deck are going to be cannibalized.

Creatures: I don't have the good stuff to do a true one man voltron, but I can use walls like Angelic Wall, Fog Bank, Wall of Frost for protecting myself and the effects of creatures like Fan Bearer, Mistmeadow Witch, New Prahv Guildmage, to aid my commander so they can swing in for lethal damage.

Cards I'm Scouting to Buy

New commander to pair with Ishai: Reyhan, Last of the Abzan

The cards I'm looking to get for this build would be things like the WUBRG Wards and the dual color protection like Shield of Duty and Reason, and Spectra Ward. Mask of Avacyn, Swiftfoot Boots, Aqueous Form, Steel of the Godhead, Indestructibility, and Battle Mastery

Others: Ring of Thune (and the variants in the other colors),
Sword of Vengeance, Whispersilk Cloak, Inquisitor's Flail, Grappling Hook, Mask of Riddles, Sigil of Distinction,

Think this is something that I can/should pull off? Any Budget recommendations?

Looks dope dude! I already hate it! 'Cause I hate azorius that is ;) I have a few ideas: Martial Law grants you continuous detainment. Archon of the Triumvirate detains whenever he attacks, and New Prahv Guildmage is also a renewable source of detain :) Detention Sphere is also fantastic for solving permanent based problems. Fuel for the Cause can up dovin baan's counters whilst countering their shenanigans. Also"stop righ there, criminal scum!"
