Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Human Artificer

Whenever you attack, each opponent loses X life and you gain X life, where X is the number of attacking creatures. If Mishra, Claimed by Gix and a creature named Phyrexian Dragon Engine are attacking, and you both own and control them, exile them, then meld them into Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia. It enters the battlefield tapped and attacking.

If I have Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia  ^{Meld  Meld} and my opponent cast Swords to Plowshares targeting Mishra, do Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld and Phyrexian Dragon Engine  ^Meld both go to exile?

No prob, happy to help! Do you have a general budget per card? I wanted to make sure that the stuff I recommended generally stuck within the budget the rest of the list seemed to have. Is there anything you have in mind for the type of effect you were looking for the 4 drop?

I'm generally a fan of keeping the curve trim for Isshin. I think most of what the deck wants tends to be mostly in the 2-4 cmc range. A few different 4 drop options:

• Bronzebeak Foragers - Basically a Grasp of Fate on a body that can be copied by Delina, Wild Mage

• Firemane Commando - Also complimentary to Breena & rewards you for attacking around the table.

• Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld - I wouldn't even bother with the Meld aspect. Mishra can be a pretty solid finisher option for group slug shenanigans.

• Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser - Newer tech from MKC. Can compliment the Breena you have in your 99 & be another draw source.

• Ogre Battledriver - Another haste anthem can be helpful for an aggro deck. The other benefit is getting that +2/+0 power buff for when creatures ETB, so it can definitely add a bit more punch to your tokens that ETB tapped & attacking.

Since you have Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld, have you considered adding Commissar Severina Raine? She is 1 mana cheaper and offers basically the same ability, with some card draw to boot.

I have definitely thought about putting most of those cards in my deck. The ones that I feel most strongly about including are Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld and Luminous Broodmoth. I haven’t included them yet because I worry that drawing them when I am behind (with no other creatures on the board for example) will feel bad, whereas other cards like token producers are mostly gas. I understand that they are very good cards that just get better with more creatures, but it seems like it’s safer to have another token producer in their place, since that would be more what I’m looking for if I already have a sac outlet on the field.

What has been your experience with those two cards?

I’m not going for the groupslug cards right now, but might include them at some point. Also the rosette has too high of an equip cost for what it does in my mind.

I will also see if I can find room for the Vault of the Archangel, it’s hard to find space for colorless lands in a three color deck!

What cards would you remove from my deck to make the changes you suggested?

Some more go-wide damage effects could serve you well with this gameplan and I have a few suggestions outside of that too.

Purphoros, God of the Forge/Impact Tremors would be mean, but effective.

Blood for the Blood God! is go-wide damage and card draw.

Vault of the Archangel and the threat of potential activation alone will get attack triggers through.

Luminous Broodmoth let's you double up on some death triggers, makes your deck more resilient, and addresses the deck's lack of flyers.

Inquisitorial Rosette is a token producer + evasion for your attackers.

Devilish Valet will one-shot someone out of the game. I've hit for over 1 million (been hit for 8 million). Just 6 tokens in a turn is 64 power and it snowballs fast from there.

Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld/Commissar Severina Raine are amazing in Isshin. I see they're in your maybeboard, but they're especially worth adding with the aristocrats subtheme.

Out: Herald of the Host, Blade of Selves

In: Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld, Myrel, Shield of Argive

Trading out some myriad stuff for things that are generally better. While Myriad is fun and pretty powerful in a group, most creatures in this deck are legendary (which is bad for Myriad), and sometimes I play 1v1's, where Myriad is a dead card.

Very solid creature base! If anything you could maybe cut a few creatures to give you a couple more slots for draw, ramp, or maybe a couple more lands. In looking at your list, I think some of the following could be solid additions:

• Plumb the Forbidden - Great draw spell

• Commissar Severina Raine - If you don't have any issues with Universes Beyond cards, she could be another solid group drain effect for going wide. She is also a slightly worse Skullclamp

• Pact of the Serpent - lean into the tribal element

• Tocasia's Welcome - Consistent and could work here since 30/44 creatures (including your commanders) are 3 cmc or less.

• Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld - Group slug if you are going wide, and he is still a Human!

• Myrel, Shield of Argive - 13/44 creatures are Soldiers, but she can balloon token production fairly well on her own.

Hi grumbledore, I've noticed that quite a few of the following cards are uncategorized, and figured they could fit into some of the following categories you have on site:

• Arcane Lighthouse - Removal or Stax, since it removes protective keywords?

• Adeline, Resplendent Cathar - Aggro since she triggers on attacks.

• Birgi, God of Storytelling  ^Flip - Ramp for front, Draw for back side

• Blightstep Pathway  ^Flip - Mana fixing, not sure if all Pathway lands are uncategorized.

• Braid of Fire - Ramp?

• Den of the Bugbear - Mana Fixing and/or Aggro because of its activated ability.

• Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  ^Flip - Ramp from the Goblin Shaman token, Draw/Discard from the 2nd chapter.

• Grave Pact - Removal or Stax, since it's an edict effect

• Great Furnace and Seat of the Synod - Mana Fixing?

• Inquisitorial Rosette - Aggro for its attack trigger and Menace anthem.

• Mishra, Claimed by Gix  ^Meld - Aggro, since it's attack based

• Needleverge Pathway  ^Flip - Mana fixing

• Ogre Battledriver - Aggro since it's a haste anthem.

• Scheming Symmetry - Tutor

• Signal Pest - Should be Aggro because of Battle Cry, and similar cards with Battle Cry are listed in Aggro.

• Skullclamp - This is categorized as Aggro, but not in Draw

• Teferi, Master of Time - Draw, Removal for phasing

• Wandering Archaic  ^Flip - Stax for front, or ramp/draw for back?

This is not an exhaustive list, but some of the ones I noticed from looking at my own deck categories.
