Loxodon Warhammer

Artifact — Equipment

Equipped creature gets +3/+0 and has trample and lifelink.

Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Cool deck. Personally I would make these swaps:

Dunedain Blade -> Pariah (put Pariah on Tajic and you will never take damage)
Starfield Mystic -> Unquestioned Authority (makes Tajic unblockable)
Geode Golem -> Ornithopter of Paradise (gets Tajic out a turn sooner and can help trigger his ability)
Butcher's Cleaver -> Loxodon Warhammer (strictly better)
True-Faith Censer -> Conjurer's Mantle
Heavy Mattock -> Horn of Valhalla
Commander's Authority -> Forth Eorlingas!

I think you’ve got a cool idea here. If you’re only going to be attacking with one creature at a time, I would recommend adding in more cards that give your creatures trample. I think something like Ancestral Anger would be a good sorcery option, and Loxodon Warhammer, while mana expensive, might be a good equipment option. Have fun with the deck!

So, I gave this another look since we talked.

I think there's too much theme-consistent stuff vs practical-stuff. For example Mage Slayer is on-theme, but practically speaking it's inferior to Loxodon Warhammer or Blanchwood Armor here. Mage Slayer's primary benefit in a deck is that is deals unblockable damage. Your dudes already are punching through, Mage Slayer is just doubling their power here.

Which could be fine, but Lone Wolf and Pride of Lions have a power of 2 and 4. That's not enough to win the game rapidly anymore.

Blanchwood Armor would fucking destroy here (even more so if you tossed out Talisman of Impulse for even more Forest ramp). Personally I'd cut something out somewhere (Prolly Talisman of Impulse and/or drop down to 2-of Thorn Elemental) to cram in some way of protecting your dudes. Rhox regenerates, but the other dudes are just screaming to get Go for the Throated

Blazing Shoal and Shining Shoal would be cool tech for this strategy.

As for cuts:

Volcanic Salvo big CMC is useful but the card is lackluster. Greater Gargadon and Heroes Remembered are at least neat exile tech (especially with the Shoals I just suggested)

Emeria's Call  Flip the tokens are useless to this strategy and there are cheaper ways to grant indestructible.

Loxodon Warhammer and Maul of the Skyclaves for the 2 Swords I suggested. All your other equipment serve a clear purpose.

Steel Seraph is this just swiss army knife value? Angelfire Ignition at least exiles for a trigger. I'd swap Semblance Anvil for the Seraph unless I'm missing something.

Torbran, Thane of Red Fell great card but I don't see it as being degenerate in this strategy. Jester's Cap can ruin the combo opponent or at the very least use other people's high CMC to feed Bell Borca.

Hi! Nice deck, had you consider Darksteel Plate? I'll personally switch it for Loxodon Warhammer, but it is up to you, especially if you've already cut it from the 99

I realized you have the Blazing Sunsteel + Brash Taunter combo in here, nifty! Combined with Loxodon Warhammer, you now have an infinitely large Auntie, but then again, you can just kill the table with the combo.

A card I don't understand in here, as cool as it is, is Obstinate Familiar. Mind to elaborate its uses for the deck?

A little suggestion I recently addedto my own red Voltron: Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar scyrockets your voltron's damage output.

SteelSentry on Can Venerable Warsinger's ability target …

I have a Venerable Warsinger equpped with a Loxodon Warhammer, and I attack with it. My opponent blocks with their Hill Giant, so the creatures trade in combat and my opponent takes 3 damage from trample. Would Venerable Warsinger be a valid target when the combat damage trigger is put on the stack?
