I'd keep birds of paradise. Having something to drop on turn one can't be understated especially with this deck. He's also an additional flyer. I'd take out Regisaur Alpha your deck is already heavy we don't need an unnecessary 5 drop. I'd consider adding Domri, Anarch of Bolas he's a form of ramp and interaction if you need it. I'm also not sold on Quartzwood Crasher I just think he's more of a casual card IMO. I also think it might be worth looking into Is Klothys, God of Destiny for your sideboard as some graveyard hate. Group Slug I think fits the bill pretty well. It's been a long time favorite way for me to play the game. My most recent version is headed by Klothys, God of Destiny who is a very safe choice I'll say. Not so much chaotic herself. Within the deck Thine Destiny is Death however, things change a bit. In playing it I'll be doing damage to everyone. Including me. Multiplying that damage to everyone. Including me. Overall it's a fun burn to see who gets to the end of their life total the fastest.

I think it's amazing someone starts a thread for this question every 2 years :P

Staples are the cards that people will raise an eyebrow if you didn't include them if your colors would allow to. Green without Cultivate? Red without Dockside Extortionist? Blue without Mana Drain? White without Smothering Tithe? Black without Demonic Tutor? Any deck without Sol Ring? You need a reason not to include them in your deck, because they're that good.

Budget is an excellent reason for most of them to not be included though, because there's an enormous run on al cards that could become staples, and if their rarity is rare or higher, prepare to empty the wallet.

Or a desire to build unique decks. My Klothys, God of Destiny deck I've mentioned before plays no artifacts, no planeswalkers, and only a handful of instants/sorceries. No Sol Ring, no Dockside Extortionist, not even Chaos Warp or Cultivate. I deemed they don't fit the deck, so they're not in it, even though I acknowledge the deck would probably be performing better if I would include them.

plakjekaas. Klothys, God of Destiny was actually one I was thinking of for breaking the mold of the usual Gruul-faire a little bit & yes, she lends herself to MLD & such more than alot of people like, but she is pretty decent to build a punisher deck as well. Meria, Scholar of Antiquity was another... Though, personally I think she is a little too Urzatastic & really not {RG} feeling, also she (Meria) isn't all that unique if you were to bring what she is outside of the {RG} color pair. The Gruul Ice-troll guy from Kaldheim is pretty neat as well, though he is more generic Timmie-ramp & less bringing Gruul in a new direction. I have seen someone build Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald to be a pretty kickass polymorph subtheme deck, but again, when you actually lean into that "play from exile" theme, it feels pretty lackluster in Gruul vs. Rakdos.

This is incredible! Had something in Jund colors a minute ago doing this. However, Volcano Hellion can reaaaaaaally ramp up those numbers when you target Hornet Nest. Even the slightest bit of lifegain could turn the tide for you, with a few bodies to spare. A spot for Klothys, God of Destiny could do some work, producing some mana ramp value. With Rhythm of the Wild on the field... things could get even crazier. Really love what you've done though!
