Kaya, Orzhov Usurper

Legendary Planeswalker — Kaya

+1: Exile up to two target cards from a single graveyard. You gain 2 life if at least one creature card was exiled this way.

-1: Exile target nonland permanent with converted mana cost 1 or less.

-5: Kaya, Orzhov Usurper deals damage to target player equal to the number of cards that player owns in exile and you gain that much life.

I decided that Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is too good against the meta to ignore. Kaya, Orzhov Usurper cut.

I see...you are banking entirely on keeping the early board clear with the low CMC removal, keeping the opponent from having any hand by all via the discards you can force so they can only play their draw each turn, and if something does hit the board more in the mid to late game, you have several pieces that make them sacrifice a creature...which also deals with hexproof or indestructible creatures that might have hit the board that you can not deal with. All that said, you are just buying time until you can hit them with Kaya, Orzhov Usurper's ultimate.

DeVerbalen I didn't know they were making shard triomes already I'll for sure slot one or two in.

I don't run Drown in the Loch because my playgroup is pretty graveyard matters and I main 3 Kaya's Guile and 2 Kaya, Orzhov Usurper and they make drown bad. It was in the deck for a while along with Anticognition though.

Delay becomes a hard counter with Teferi, Time Raveler without him I agree is okay at best in most situations.

I did mess with my removal suite a bit after some goldfishing and a couple games online. Murderous Rider was good but double black isn't easy to get quickly as I need to prioritize triple blue and black is the colour I have the least of by a large margin.

Damn, the creatures in this deck really look like a blast from the past. Shriekmaw, Geist, Tasigur?? (I love Shriekmaw btw)

I've seen esper stoneblade lists with Dakkon before, the card is pretty cool.

I think you could do with a little more threats, since this isn't like esper stoneblade control and more like esper stoneblade midrange. Esper Sentinel is a great proactive t1 play, and usually draws a card even if its removed. With more 1 drops I think you can cut the Thoughtseize and maybe go to 4 IoK.

I recommend cutting the two paths for more Prismatic Ending. Also I recommend cutting Damnation for a second Damn.

Not sure what else to suggest. Solitude maybe? Kaya, Orzhov Usurper can deal with opponent delirium and exile opposing reanimation targets, and also exile ragavan and drc.

I have not tried Seraph of the Scales at all, but then I also do not think I have specifically played this against any sort of reanimator. When I did play it, they had not really caught on at my LGS and lately I have been back on Grixis Control.

Anyway...I do not know what it is that I would pull out of the 4 slot for that as opposed to hanging on to a Path to Exile or Vindicate might end up being better than replacing anything in that slot, just my thoughts though. I was also considering a Kaya, Orzhov Usurper or two in the side since the reanimator decks have caught on.

Coming up, I am thinking about trying Markov Purifier for some card draw as a two of. Gaining life here is really easy, but unsure how bad that extra mana might be in the long run, but I figure it is worth a shot.

What do you think about running Seraph of the Scales ? Deathtouch seems quite good against Murktide Regent or Archon of Cruelty and you still have 2x 1/1 Blockers left after it dies.
For your Maybeboard: Night's Whisper seems like a better Sign in Blood to me in this deck since it's easier to cast.
Also a single Kaya, Orzhov Usurper in the sideboard seems nice in the current Meta: "+1" against Living End and other Graveyard strategies and "-1" against Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Dragon's Rage Channeler.
