It's been a couple of years, and the Hydra horde have matured!

Thanks for all your great suggestions while I've been away. I can see that the deck could need an overhaul with all the wonderful new cards

The following are now under consideration

The problem is that you are using a mechanic with very clearly defined rules, then putting in reminder text something different.

Devotion looks at all color pips of mana (Since there is no such thing as devotion to colorless yet). So a creature such as Spellbreaker Behemoth in a Xenagos, God of Revels deck counts toward 3 total devotion when Xenagos is out on the field. So with Xenagos and Spellbreaker, and assuming no other pips exist that you control, your devotion is . If you then play a Karametra's Acolyte, you add an additional to your devotion, and when you tap her for mana you add 4x . Again, assuming no other pips exist that you control.

Your Demigods are saying that if you own one and one , your devotion is 1.

It's not "1". It's "one " and "one ". Individually it may be "1", but it isn't "1" in total.

Your devotion is two for and two for . Because he cares about devotion for both colors, he will see all 4 pips with 2 each, giving him a total power of 4. This, in turn with his double strike, yields 8 combat damage right out of the gate, in a vacuum.

Alright, so. Right off the bat, sorry for this being a bit late, I thought I was gonna get to it the other day, and then I worked two 13 hour shifts in a row. But, im here now, so lets get started.

I can see that you chose to go more of a landfall route as apposed to the stompy route that I did. Respectable, I like it. However, I think that this deck struggles with some of the same things that my deck does, which is getting creatures through to hit face. It's why I have such a high priority on trample effects. Cards like Rhonas's Monument or Aggressive Mammoth are big hitters in my deck just because Ashaya, Soul of the Wild is often already around a 20/20, giving her trample is what brings it together to make her significantly more terrifying. Giant Ankheg is a favorite of mine for this purpose, it gives so much value.

A few big beaters I'm surprised you don't have are Ghalta, Primal Hunger because, lets be honest, shes basically a 12/12 trampler for 2, or cards like Worldspine Wurm or Moldgraf Monstrosity. Big, hard hitting creatures that you can easily power out pretty quickly. I would also consider Blackblade Reforged as a card, as it effectively doubles Ashaya's power and turns a scarily large creature into something terrifying.

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar is a card that I really like in my deck. She's basically as big as Ashaya, so she is a good beaters, seeing as how she has trample, but personally, I prefer her in the gy. There are a bunch of sneaky ways to protect your creatures with Ashaya. I see you already have Quirion Ranger, but I suggest Multani as well as Scryb Ranger. Instead of protecting your creatures with Sylvan Safekeeper and having to sacrifice something else to do it, why not just bounce them to your hand and fizzle the effect? Then you get to play them out again and get another etb/landfall trigger for whatever you have on board that cares about that. This also works better against board wipes, as shroud doesn't help with that.

For landfall effects, Rampaging Baloths or Tireless Tracker are some cards I would consider, as they either make basically infinite 4/4s or they give you clues, which, after playing this deck a lot, that card advantage is very necessary, you can absolutely run out of cards very quickly. That's why I run Ulvenwald Mysteries and Rishkar's Expertise in my Ashaya deck. Ulvenwald gives you consistent clues and a chump blocker to boot, and Rishkar's, combined with Ashaya, or Multani or whoever else, draws you like, 20 cards and then lets you put something onto the battlefield.

For ramp/land effects you can go in a ton of different directions, what you do doesn't matter much, as everything is effective imo. I personally run Bootleggers' Stash and Zendikar Resurgent because you can ramp into them very quickly and they can both give you insane amounts of extra mana. Other cards like Augur of Autumn or Karametra's Acolyte are both good utility/ramp cards, as well as Stone-Seeder Hierophant.

Now, I really just have a few questions. Why are you running Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth? Isn't everything already a forest? That pick, I'm afraid I just don't understand, could you explain what I'm missing? And if you're going for a devotion style deck, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Gaea's Cradle are both amazing lands. Granted, idk what your budget is and Gaea's Cradle isn't exactly cheap lmao. Another thing, why are you running 45 lands? I understand that there is a landfall theme, but that seems extreme even to me, most landfall decks I've seen run around 38. I would reduce your land count imo and invest those slots into artifacts and instants that either pair well with your deck, or that protect your creatures.

Karametra's Acolyte might interest you. Adds a green mana for each devotion to green you have. Which your deck has 31 cards with atleast 1 green pip so you might like.

Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss is a card I think you really need to have tho. Gives your commander +2/+2 and for every spell over 7cmc you can untap your commander and use her again. Could really combo off.

Thank you for the suggestions SufferFromEDHD. After some consideration I decided to swap out Karametra's Acolyte for Questing Beast (I have a copy in my binders), and Utopia Sprawl for my copy of Birds of Paradise from my recently recycled Brokkos, Apex of Forever deck. I liked Utopia Sprawl since it dodged most of the removal that Mana Dorks are most susceptible to. Is it necessary for a mono-green deck? It's debatable, but I'm usually happy to draw into it early on.

I like Life's Legacy because of its low CMC, although I do like that Momentous Fall is an instant, but don't currently own a copy. I do have a copy of Greater Good though.

I picked up Hall of Gemstone for about $5 a couple of years ago, and was surprised when I saw what its new price is. It's a good card, but I can understand why other players might omit it from their lists between the its effect and the price tag.

As for your other suggestions, I don't currently own copies of any of them, but will consider them a bit more. I'm planning on picking up cards for other decks in the next month or two, but had this deck as one of the lowest in my consideration for new upgrades aside from maybe a Silverback Elder

V1.1 - Cannibalizing other decks to flesh mine out

Out

Ashenmoor Liege, Shattergang Brothers, Fell Shepherd, Walker of the Grove, Plague Boiler, Jar of Eyeballs, Vile Requiem, Empty the Pits, Rough / Tumble

In

Karametra's Acolyte - Green devotion mana dork. Xenagos, God of Revels - Generally great, explosive charges Balefire Dragon - Psuedo-board clear, can pump with Xenagos, God of Revels. Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger - Psuedo-rap, board control Bow of Nylea - Attacking death touch tokens are way more threatening, can't chunk block them. Devotion to green. Cultivate - Ramp is good. Ranger's Path - Ramp is still good. Into the Wilds - Semi draw, semi ramp, top of library manipulation. Xenagos, the Reveler - Ramp, tokens, whats not to like? Death's Presence - A bit win more, but re-using the stats from stacked tokens can be great.

There we go!

First, do you really own all of these super-expensive cards? That's impressive. If not, it's still fine. Big green decks can use them, but there are so many cheaper ways to go nuts on mana.

Your mana curve is pretty low and you have tons of ramp. 32 lands still seems optimistic. I wouldn't normally go below 35, especially since quite a lot of your ramp is on mana dorks, which easily die to many things.

Spike Weaver makes me think of combos, but I couldn't figure out yours. Is there any?

I'm assuming Setessan Petitioner is in here as a human with an etb? It'll propably net you quite a lot of life, but how about cutting Petitioner and Feeder for these two:

Hyrax Tower Scout and Karametra's Acolyte go infinite with Kogla, and with just one additional devotion, you not only get infinite cast/etb triggers, but also infinite mana.

What's more? There are five expensive fetches in here that aren't necessary at all. As you don't have any non-basic forests, it wouldn't change anything if they simply were forests. That would save you more than a hundred bucks from the budget. The chance of simply changing your deck order doesn't seem worth it, either.

That's it for me. The general list looks pretty good, so I'll be sure to leave an upvote.
