Hunted Horror

Creature — Horror

Trample

When Hunted Horror enters the battlefield, create two 3/3 green Centaur creature tokens with protection from black. ((Remember the acronym debt.) This can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked or targeted by anything black. Anything black attached to this immediately falls off.)

You probably want to be playing Hunted Horror instead of Dust Elemental imo

Skullclamp feels like an auto-include when you can pump out sacrificial thulls.

Shadowspear is also pretty good, as usual. As is Basilisk Collar since it can push your trample damage through.

I don't think Raphael is very good. He's very expensive for +1/1 and lifelink. You happen to use some demons, which is incidentally useful, but I think your deck will be worse if you start excluding better creatures because they aren't demons. For instance.... Jeska loves Ball Lightning and Lightning Skelemental. And Hunted Horror can attack for 21 on the earliest turn that you could possibly play jeska. It doesn't even need haste.

If you use want to use sheoldred the apocalypse, play wheels. The only reason not to would be if you intentionally want to weaken your deck because it's overpowered. If so I'd cut sheoldred before I'd consider not using wheels in these colors.

Combat Celebrant is a good secondary source of extra combats.

Death's Shadow + lifelink and jeska is kinda silly when you get low.

I really appreciate the feedback wallisface legendofa I completely took out white. It was mostly just instances of life gain. I replace Suture Priest with Blood Seeker and Blood Artist. I added that amazing Enchantment Illness in the Ranks I thought for sure I'd have to splash red for that same effect. I also tried to find more cards that added tokens to their side of the battlefield but came up mostly empty handed. The next best thing I could find was Hunted Horror the other hunteds I wasn't too impressed with. Hunted Troll wasn't bad but I don't think he's worth splashing another color for.

Interesting idea. I would suggest finding ways to give opponents creatures like with Goblin Spymaster or Akroan Horse the hunted cycle could work(Hunted Dragon,Hunted Troll) maybe not Hunted Horror that could backfire. Also Skullclamp would be great for card draw.

Hey, on a low budget Sheltering Ancient and Hunted Horror when scavenged give a lot of counters for two mana.

These creatures are also lower mana cost with trample that can be to cast for Varolz, the Scar-Striped to put counters on them or to sac to get them into your graveyard. They have trample and even though Horror creates pro black token creatures for opponent to be blockers black creatures with trample will trample over them and hit your opponent. That's how trample works with color protection, opponent creatures can only block as much damage as it has toughness then the rest is done to opponent. You just need to be able to kill your opponent with trample damage before they kill you with 3/3 pro black creatures.

Grim Flayer and Grisly Salvage are good cards for this strategy, effects to get cards into your graveyard. These effects can help to find Varolz while also getting creatures you want to scavenge into your graveyard. Flayer is another creature who has trample to put counters on and Double Masters (2X2) version is much less than $1 each.

4x Varolz is really the only scavenge creature you need. You want to draw him and can scavenge other copies of him. All the other creatures with scavenge cost too much mana to scavenge and Slitherhead is very lackluster. Instead of playing other creatures with scavenge ability play creatures who have high power for the mana cost? Rely more on Varolz to scavenge?

On a low budget this is the core I would start with:

Amazing deck! I did not realise there was someone before me with this idea, and I love how your deck is looking. Cards to consider for your Maybeboard: Acorn Catapult, Death by Dragons, Elephant Resurgence, Kamahl's Summons, Plague of Vermin, Tempt with Vengeance, Artifact Mutation, Dowsing Dagger  Flip, Curse of Disturbance, Liege of the Hollows, Sawtusk Demolisher, Akroan Horse, Hungry Lynx, Life of the Party, Sleeper Agent, Tahngarth, First Mate and lets not forget the "Hunted" cycle with Hunted Horror, Hunted Dragon and Hunted Troll
