@IndepenentMeta I no longer have the decklist on here but it was a Blue moon homebrew... dusted off an old deck and brought it to locals which in essence looked like this:

intended to attack the opponents mana base... then bounce/burn/countermagic

my decklist didnt really have a solid Win Condition.... it had a single copy of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and tamiyo ult with burn.... i was able to be a nuisance at times but could never really capitalize on turning to corner... best games were basically just taking a longer time to lose lol.... its no worries though!

Looks like fun! I think this deck could really use a Thrummingbird. Also check out the good ol' infect staples Glistener Elf and Blighted Agent.

I'm not sure this deck really wants the board sweepers especially since your commander puts shield counters on your opponent's stuff. Maybe something like Gigadrowse or Turnabout would be more synergistic.

Test Ground Rift as lumimancer counts copies - can represent a lot of damage in 1 turn. Similar logic might bring Shattering Spree into sideboard tech.

My janky ass is trying to figure out Gigadrowse / Clever Lumimancer as a transformative sideboard for taking turns.

Just a small nitpick:

No player has priority during the Untap Step, so no spells can be cast or abilities can be activated during that time. The soonest you would be able to cast a Gigadrowse to tap the lands your opponent untapped would be during the Upkeep Step after your opponent has passed priority.

Comprehensive Rules:

502.3. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no abilities can be activated or resolve. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step.

Okay, this is a little odd because of the way Trinisphere looks at costs. Usually, things go by converted mana cost (as of Strixhaven, mana value), which is the total value of the mana symbols. Trinisphere, however, takes the total amount of mana spent to cast the spell and makes sure that number is at least 3. This includes things like kicker and replicate costs, so you can add those into the amount Trinisphere sees.

Replicate is an ability of the spell that allows you to pay an additional cost. It's not casting another spell, so Trinisphere won't tax it—pretty much the opposite, in fact. Here's how much it will cost to cast Gigadrowse with Trinisphere in play:

  • Cast with no replication:
  • Cast with 1 replicate:
  • Cast with 2 replicate:
  • Cast with 3 replicate:

And so on.

Scenario:

  • Trinisphere is on the battlefield and I have mana available to me and pass the turn to my opponent.

  • In response to the end of my opponents draw/untap beginning phase; I cast Gigadrowse to all of his/her lands.

Question:

How much mana do I need to initially cast Gigadrowse; and how much mana is needed to copy the spell each time beyond the first?
