{engage_grumpy_old_man_engine} I’ve always liked the requirement that you decide between paying the upkeep mana for something and having that mana available for whatever you were about to draw. As we proceed down the MtG road, though, we have seen less and less downsides for cards. The age of “bad things happen to everyone” (such as Copper Tablet) and “you get a STRONG card but it hurts” (such as Gallowbraid) is winding down. Our “is it worth adding this card” decisions are less “can I handle the downside for these upsides” than they are “is this awesome set of benefits better than this other set of awesome benefits”. It does make the game simpler, but it takes a little away from what I liked about magic. Losing the upkeep phase would make me sad, but not by much... because I’m already sad that we’ve almost completely moved into the realm of “everyone gets good stuff all the time”. Booo.

Thats a good point, didn´t thought about Platinum Angel as a downside, but i guess you are right here. Just thought of it as a protection against Phage.

I totaly misunderstood Rule 800.4a too, i saw a post in another deck using it (with exiled), and didn´t questioned it. That was my bad, but in this case it really wouldn't be that bad to get her back.

Do you know how cumultaiv upkeep works together with Irenicus? Rule 101.3. says: Any part of an instruction that’s impossible to perform is ignored. (In many cases the card will specify consequences for this; if it doesn’t, there’s no effect.).. Does this mean they can´t choose to sacrifice the creature and always have to pay for it? But what would happen if they can´t pay it? Or dose this mean the effect simple doesn´t happen?

Gallowbraid, of course, hence why I built a deck for him to call home. He has a little brother that flies whose name I can never remember, but I saw Gallowbraid first, so of course I'm partial.

And I like Karona, False God too. Kinda unique, interesting, potentially dangerous, definitely janky. It's got all the stuff I like about Magic. In fact, she may be a more fun/better commander for a chaos deck I've been wanting to rebuild, instead of using Obeka, Brute Chronologist. Hmm. Yeah.

I have a Gallowbraid voltron deck. You could build Morinfen instead to be different, lol.

Also, Karona, False God is pretty weird, not many people build around her.

Finally, Taniwha would be a challenge.

Hello legendofa,

I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

Omniscience_is_life I actually haven’t built either yet!

Since you mentioned it, here’s a list of what I’ve already built.

I have built Gallowbraid, the Pako, Arcane Retriever and Haldan, Avid Arcanist pairing, Jhoira of the Ghitu, Triad of Fates, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, and the Krav, the Unredeemed and Regna, the Redeemer pairing, and I am currently building Kathril, Aspect Warper.

As I mentioned, there are several commanders that have already been suggested, but if something’s already been suggested and gets mentioned again, I’ll just jump it up the queue!
