Fraying Omnipotence

Sorcery

Each player loses half their life, then discards half the cards in their hand, then sacrifices half the creatures they control. Round up each time.

I have replaced Darigaaz, the Igniter, Dread, and Death Cloud with Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire, Ziatora, the Incinerator, and Fraying Omnipotence, because the newer cards are vastly superior to the older cards, and that did, unfortunately, increase the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.92 to 3.95, but those numbers are deceptive, since I would have needed to spend at least 2 mana on the in Death Cloud's mana cost to receive good value from it.

I meant to say that Fraying Omnipotence does not affect lands; I am sorry for that mistake.

I have replaced Death Cloud with Fraying Omnipotence, because the newer card does affect lands, which, unfortunately, increased this deck's average converted mana cost from 3.77 to 3.81, but those numbers are actually deceptive, since Death Cloud has a variable mana cost, and I would need to spend at least 2 mana on to receive good value from it.

Fraying Omnipotence is better in my opinion. I run it in my Clavileno, First of the Blessed deck paired with Bloodletter of Aclazotz.

Aside from that I'm sure there are better options to choose from for you. :)

Profet93 I'm newish to Commander after playing a lot of Standard on Arena since coming back to the game. Mostly I need help with things like how much removal/lands/mana rocks to run.

Also, Commander has so many unspoken nuances, I hope to avoid playing things that everyone hates, hence Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Fraying Omnipotence not being the win-con

I'll give some good general-use options for several budget levels.

$20+ Thornbite Staff, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm

$10-$20 Contamination, Liliana of the Veil

$1-$10 Capital Punishment, Ratcatcher

Less than $1 Feed the Swarm, Fraying Omnipotence, Hex

Max_Hammer I do actually have Liliana, Dreadhorde General, she's just in another deck (which would probably benefit more from Liliana of the Dark Realms, it's a whole thing). I think you're right, Varina will involve more milling and would enjoy Liliana, Death's Majesty. I've never considered Liliana, Death Mage, thank you!

You know what, I'm getting a very subtle sense that you don't like Nevvy, but I'm not so sure.

No, I definitely hear you, I think the biggest challenge in building that deck will be to make it fun to play against. The other deck I'm referencing (the one that my Dreadhorde General is currently in), I BEG YOUR F@CKING PARDON??!!! - Razaketh, is so far proving to be a failure at that. I was hoping to make something chaotic that results in a laugh, I ended up building a deck where the wincons involve no interaction with the other players, I just tutor and cast two cards (Fraying Omnipotence and Wound Reflection), and it really doesn't matter what the actual board state looks like. Everyone calls it my bullshit deck, it's not overpowered or tuned in any real way, it just lives in its own world and ends the game way too suddenly to be fun.

So with Nevvy, I like him because he seems to bring that same self-destructive chaos I was hoping to capture (and, down the line, will hope to capture again when I build a Rakdos the Defiler deck), my challenge will be to have that chaos without it feeling like I'm stopping others from playing. It's why I'm exploring a few different commanders, I want to see what leads to the most fun Zombie deck, without it being the exact same Zombie deck that everyone plays/expects to see.

As an aside, I do also have a proliferate deck in mind, but it'd be to pull off shenanigans like Vraska, Scheming Gorgon's -10.

Hehe, discard, what a great strategy.

Here are my recommendations for mass discard spells; Awaken the Erstwhile, Ill-Gotten Gains, Fraying Omnipotence and Delirium Skeins.

For black mana ramp, here is what I found; Spoils of Evil, Culling the Weak, Herald of Leshrac, Black Market and Cabal Ritual. Obliviously, they aren't putting lands into play, most are only giving you mana on the spot. You could also add mana rocks like Everflowing Chalice or some of the few black lands that ramp you a lot like Cabal Coffers with Urborg which are really expensive. I like the combo between Culling the Weak and Ophiomancer : create a snake with Ophiomancer and sacrifice it with Culling the Weak. Note: with Culling the Weak, you can sacrifice any number of creatures for 4 black mana each.

I hope it's going to help you, good luck with your deck LoneSniper72!
