Strongly suggest this guy as your commander as the saying goes, ''god's never die'' Phenax, God of Deception and this guy I faced a long time ago back when i was starting magic and got milled over 33 cards, I'm like why i asked guy said cause of all my creatures with defender Doorkeeper

Sugesstions:

Add two more Lands and Three Visits, cut Doorkeeper, Wild Pair, Steel Wall. You don't need Mill tech, Wild Pair is Win more and Steel Wall is Vanilla, just not enough. You also could cut some other creatures to add your Maybeboard, you would still have plenty.

Millstone , Inaction Injunction , and Geralf's Mindcrusher are three cards that seem on the weak side here. For the first, maybe something like Sphinx's Tutelage could make the best use of your cantrips for maximum cards milled. It would also make the detain card better, although I think I'd still prefer a more permanent answer like additional Detention Sphere , Darksteel Mutation , or the weaker but thematically consistent Deep Freeze . When it comes to the Mindcrusher, I think he's just too slow to only be milling 5-10 cards while not contributing to the defender gameplan. I'd probably just hard swap him for 3 more Wall of Lost Thoughts , Wall of Omens , or maybe Mnemonic Wall . Also, if you don't mind splashing black, Phenax, God of Deception is a great bomb to supplement Doorkeeper s.

I think you should cut Doorkeeper. He's your only defender creature so 3 mana and tap to mill one isn't a good payoff. Phenax, God of Deception will break the wallet a little bit but is a solid and a staple for mill. Extract from Darkness, Glimpse the Unthinkable, Psychic Corrosion, Mindcrank, and Riddlekeeper are some good options. Hope this helps as a fellow mill player!

Ah a classic and fantastic combo, and welcome to my decklist! In this deck I choose to use Wall of Lost Thoughts over Doorkeeper simply because of the interactions with Cloudstone Curio and Temur Sabertooth (and soon to be Emiel the Blessed). But it is an extra defender which is fantastic so I'll slap it in the maybeboard.

I have a counter combo for you! With a Axebane Guardian + Wall of Kelp + Intruder Alarm you can use the kelp ETB trigger to make infinite mana and defenders, (without the need for the 3 extra defenders) which with Arcades, the Strategist out means infinite draw too! Then you could drop a Doorkeeper and really capitalise on those infinite defenders you've got!

This is like the millionth arcades deck that I’ve commented this on, but it’s worth the effort: Axebane Guardian+High Alert+Doorkeeper(and 3 other defenders to get Axebane to tap for 5)= infinite mana and mill. Gotta love it

Resolute Watchdog is very synergistic protection for Arcades. Also, I comment this on every Arcades deck, but Axebane Guardian+Doorkeeper+High Alert and 3 other random defenders (just so Axebane can tap for 5) =infinite mana and infinite mill for your opponents ;D
