Hello friend! I have some suggestions! I had way too much time today, so here you go.

Relatively cheap, potent, and just perfect upgrades.

This bit is, of course, focused on making as many treasures as your board can bear.

Great, now you have all of these treasures, now what are you going to do with them?

  • Frogmite, Lens Flare, Scale of Chiss-Goria, Tooth of Chiss-Goria, Mycosynth Golem, Slag Strider, Furnace Dragon, and Myr Enforcer are all notable cards you could add, since they pretty much become free after a while, though mostly pretty useless.

  • Forsworn Paladin is pretty good token generation early game, but really shines with the second ability where it can instantly punish anyone blocking or attacking you recklessly.

  • Marionette Master is going to pack a punch.

  • Dargo, the Shipwrecker is super cheap for a 7/5 with trample.

  • Enraged Giant, Freejam Regent, Battle at the Bridge, Saheeli's Directive, Herald of Anguish, and Organic Extinction are all pretty solid additions, since they don’t make you sacrifice anything in exchange for it.

  • Ruthless Technomancer has a million combos with (like Dockside Extortionist+sac outlet) and is just pretty good on its own.

  • Leonin Elder is just one life, but when you’re playing a treasure deck, that one life will definitely add up.

  • Underhanded Designs is a murder or a poke engine, which is very snazzy.

  • Glaze Fiend is pretty scary, considering that it has trample.

  • Dragonspark Reactor could be a bit of removal in your back pocket or your wincon.

  • Arcbound Crusher’s design team didn’t anticipate just how many artifacts I was planning on throwing onto the field.

  • Professional Face-Breaker is just like Grim Hireling, in that it makes treasure tokens, but more importantly, it gives you something else. You get a load of impulse draw, which is really nice when you have loads of mana.

  • Magda, Brazen Outlaw is just an artifact tutor, really. Though, there are plenty of treasure loving dragons you could also fish for. (:

  • Kalain, Reclusive Painter loves treasures, giving everyone big buffs.

  • Swashbuckler Extraordinaire can give anything that might be sensitive to dying double strike for a big final push. That, or just give one big boy double strike.

  • Their Number is Legion gets you lots of life and lots of tokens.

  • Necron Overlord is just a worse Ghirapur, but it’s still gonna hurt.

  • Street Urchin is the same idea as the above.

  • Armix, Filigree Thrasher could be some annoying removal, especially early game.

  • Hellkite Igniter is a big boy that, if left unblocked, could be a one hit kill.

  • Feedback Bolt is a big, powerful spell. To put it simply: ouch.

  • Fain, the Broker can make treasures, can make +1/+1’s, and can make little spooky boys. The best type of boys. Great utility and variety overall.

  • Rain of Riches is big. One cascading spell a turn, whichever one you want? Imagine dropping Feedback Bolt and cascading into Hellkite Igniter.

  • Captain Lannery Storm is innocent… Until you leave her unblocked like a dummy.

  • Concussive Bolt can be an easy kill, letting you get as much damage as you want through.

  • Dispense Justice is just like saying “Fuck your voltron.”

  • It seems you also like having and sacrificing constructs, so here’s a bit to let you do more of that, if you’d prefer to have a construct deck over a treasure token deck.

    • Shared Animosity will give constructs a boost, but there really isn’t a specific theme across creature types aside from that, and your constructs are better used for chump blocking or just turning them into scrap. Ignore this if you’re going for more of a construct tribal sort of thing.

    • Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip is a good card, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think it’s really necessary.

    • Rakdos Charm could be replaced with something better as far as artifact removal or graveyard hate. Nihil Spellbomb would be good graveyard hate and Generous Gift is just a good white staple.

    • Comet Storm is fun, but Crackle with Power is more fun.

elliotmward97: So I actually used to run Red Elemental Blast, Pyroblast, Tibalt's Trickery and Withering Boon but didn't feel I was getting enough mileage out of them. Imp's Mischief and Deflecting Swat are both great in any black and/or red deck, I just don't have a copy of either unfortunately lol.

Hadn't considered Wishclaw Talisman but I'm definitely going to now! Especially with Goblin Engineer/Goblin Welder is a pretty nifty combo. =D

Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos is a card I really liked thematically, but in practice just never felt good to draw. Even going infinite with Dockside and Technomancer requires your opponents to have at least seven Enchantments and Artifacts - which totally is gonna happen sometimes, but definitely not all the time.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance is another card I used to run (and quite liked) but got cut for Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast as Daretti just synergized with the deck better. Chandra may yet make it back into the deck, though!

As for cuts, I'm not totally sure but probably Hellkite Tyrant in favour of Ancient Copper Dragon. Tyrant is great but also extremely telegraphed. I'd probably look at Professional Face-Breaker or either Mayhem Devil or Nadier's Nightblade (depending on your playstyle) as a cut for Imperial Recruiter. And although Goblin Welder is a favourite of mine, it's likely on the chopping block if I do pick up a Ragavan.

Nice deck! I have a deck that does a similar thing in Malcolm & Akiri. But black also has a lot of fun toys :). I got some cards here that you could consider:

    • Indomitable Creativity: trade in your tokens for something more valuable, while also chaos warping (kinda) a few of your opponent’s expensive threats.
    • Martyr's Bond: great control option if that’s a thing you’re after
    • Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast: diverse card that can be nice if your deck is able to protect planeswalkers. But likely your creatures will be going sideways most of the time…
    • Hidden Stockpile: nice utility card that can give you more bodies to attack with. Perhaps not good enough given your commander doesn't work with tokens...
    • Tamiyo's Journal: did you say clues :)?
    • Herald of Anguish: I love this card and am sad I have no home for it yet. Would be great in this list I think.

For bombs with attack triggers you could consider Balefire Dragon, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames and Etali, Primal Storm.

Hope you like some of them!

EJ!! Let's do this! This build is already tight, but here are my thoughts\suggestions...

Cards I'd consider cutting: Seize the Spoils, Reckless Endeavor, Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast, Poison the Cup, Vengeful Reaper, Dream Devourer, Replicating Ring, Ward of Bones, Darksteel Forge, the flip tibalt guy, Ash Barrens, Cryptic Caves, Darksteel Citadel, Foreboding Ruins, Mortuary Mire, Zhalfirin Void

Cards I'd consider adding: Light Up the Stage, Chaos Wand, You Find Some Prisoners, Reckless Fireweaver, Valakut Exploration, Rakdos Charm, Murderous Rider, Praetor's Grasp, Rakdos Signet, Bojuka Bog, Luxury Suite, Blood Crypt, Haunted Ridge, Smoldering Marsh, Dragonskull Summit, Bloodstained Mire, Temple of Malice

I would also suggest swapping Red Elemental Blast for Pyroclasm... seems silly, but pyroclasm can be cast even if there are no blue targets. So may not be relevant, but could be randomly at some point.

You could run some Threats still in line with your them:

    Wurmcoil Engine

    Kaldra Compleat

Karn, the Great Creator: I love this tool box card but it depends on how people feel about the 10 card sideboard, it isn't officially allowed exactly but cEDH may change that. you can fill the board (10 is generally the accepted number I have seen for the "side") with situationally useful artifacts.

The only other thing I would think of is maybe considering a bit more control like

    Dovin's Veto

    Render Silent

    Counterflux

    Swan Song

to give a bit more protection for your strats

Rakdos's Return is always funny but may or may not work here

Sevinne's Reclamation could give some recursion Academy Ruins and Trading Post Too

Aetherflux Reservoir and Time Sieve with Thopter Assembly if you want some combo wombo

Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast seems to fit the theme

I am not a fan of the wellsprings, they do fit the them somewhat but can seem dead at times.

I had a couple of others that were in mind but lost them, I will comment if I think of them

Update - A few changes following playtest to improve the flow of the deck. The addition of Mycosynth Lattice and Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast boosts the artifact synergy nicely. Grim Tutor to replace Return to Nature as a more useful card generally (able to find planeswalkers with removal abilities if needed).

I pulled a full art Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools recently and felt it would sit nicely in this deck in place of Sarkhan the Masterless who proved a bit clunky in play. Not to mention the addition of 3 additional shock lands to increase the % of positive early plays.
