Cabal Stronghold/Cabal Coffers - Former budget, latter not. Big black mana producing lands. Contamination does shut them off though. Should that be an issue, note Infernal Darkness as a potential alternative.

Crypt of Agadeem - Ramp

Bojuka Bog - Personally, not a huge fan of tapped lands. But with fetches, you can use at instant speed. Not needed but worth considering depending on amount of GY decks in the meta.

Shizo, Death's Storehouse > Rogue's passage - Once budget opens, this is an upgrade. Not needed but worth considering.

Contamination - Sacrifice synergy. High synergy with bitterblossom, reassembling skeleton and any other creature that can return to field.

Syphon Mind > Dark Tutelage - While you have a relatively low avg cmc of 3.00, black has better draw that doesn't hurt you as badly. Not to mention it's steady draw, which can be good, but sometimes burst draw is preferred. Syphon mind is draw 3, each opponent discard 1. Budget friendly too.

Skullclamp - Speaking of draw, this goes well with all your sac synergies.

Murderous Rider > Murder - Can hit Walkers, is versatile as a creature with lifelink that can recoup your lifeloss. Almost a strict upgrade.

Feed the Swarm - Removal that hits enchantments. Black has difficult with artifacts and enchantments. I can provide you with some potential artifact removal should you wish depending on your meta. But this might be worth considering given that a Rest in Peace can mess u up.

Maybe Corpse Dance - With your sac outlets, you can ignore the negative aspect of the card. Also do note that after a wipe, you can choose the order in which your creatures enter the GY if they go together simultaneously.

Dark Ritual - Simple ritual ramp

Mind Stone - Ramp when you need it, draw when you don't.

Oubliette - Commander hate

At the risk of being too risky and pricey, Hatred - Do note life loss is additional cost to cast but it can be fun with use with your commander, either with it's ability or commander damage. Not to mention the political aspect of using it on your opponents attacking each other (Bonus points if you use it on their commander).

Deserted Temple - Untap coffers + politics

Crypt of Agadeem - Ramp

Ancient Tomb - Ramp

Reliquary Tower - Utility for all your draw

Cover of Darkness - Evasion, maybe in place of filth? Unsure.

Thrilling Encore - Since your deck goes wide, this can help you recover after a wipe. Alternatively, you can steal opposing creatures as well.

Malakir Rebirth  Flip/Feign Death/Supernatural Stamina - In response to removal on your commander, brings it back and trigger it's ETB again.

Imp's Mischief - While typically not seen as much in go wide decks, its my pet card so I want to recommend it. It can "counter" counterspells, and redirect targeted removal, draw and extra turns.

Bubbling Muck - Ramp

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - Helps ramp coffers + makes bubbling muck more powerful (albeit, symmetrical)

Do keep in mind contamination will shut down your coffers + stronghold. But it also shuts down opposing nykthos, cradle, etc...

Crypt of Agadeem - Ramp

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - Ramp

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician - Synergy

I personally like to run 37, but everyone is different. It really depends on your avg cmc, amount of ramp you have, wincon, etc.... For your deck, I would see how your current 34 lands hold up. If you find yourself needing more, bump it up to 36-37. Regardless, you definitely need some more ramp. Jet Medallion, Arcane Signet (perhaps over or in additional to charcoal diamond), Mind Stone and maybe even a Hedron Archive.

For lands I recommend cutting Hive and westvale for Deserted Temple to untap coffers and Thespian's Stage to copy it or another utility land. Perhaps add in a Crypt of Agadeem. An Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth while unnecessary, is helpful. Albeit, it does provide symmetry to bublicking muck.

While a bit niche and unnecessary, if your playgroup is okay with combos, a Rings of Brighthearth is helpful. It allows double commander activations as well as some of your other creatures. Not to mention Rings + coffers + temple + swamps (urborg to make u need less swamps) =

I would add like 1-4 more removal cards personally depending on how much interaction you want in the deck. You might want to add another board wipe (or 2). All is Dust hits enchantments but not artifacts while Oblivion Stone hits everything. A rest in peace could be difficult for your deck to deal with and I don't see you running anything to deal with that. Perhaps a Feed the Swarm?

First try out your deck and see what you are lacking, either before or after my suggestions. Hope this helps, let me know what you think of each suggestion.

Tbh amazing deck the synergiesis awesome. If I were to suggest anything i dont think i can follow the synergy as well but here is a few ideas.

Crypt of Agadeem good land in self mill

Syr Konrad, the Grim works well with the self mill put back on top of library theme.

Dread Return or perhaps Natural Order to make your insect tokens become something better.

Skullclamp card draw w/tokens

Some new cards are really good here!!!

Insidious Roots tokens ramp 2nd crypotolith rites kinda

Amzu, Swarm's Hunger insect have menace + more sometimes

Haywire Mite Removal on a creature

Out of the Tombs self mill + don't die from decking most of the time

Happy brewing

Brutal. This is a mean vintage pile. If you are already bending the rules why not throw in Tolarian Academy?

Urza's Saga would be a strong addition.

Crypt of Agadeem too slow?

Ritual of the Machine and Koskun Falls color pie bending tech.

Echo of Eons I find myself sneaking this into all kinds of different strategies. You are already running the original maybe this could be a solid second copy.

Some thoughts:

  • you should probably just be playing 4 copies of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse instead of including 1-ofs the other versions of her, which are far weaker and don’t play well into your theme.

  • Orcish Bowmasters wants to be in a deck where an opponent is drawing lots of cards.

  • 75 cards is waaay too many, and will lead your deck to being a lot more inconsistent. Really try to cut this back to 60.

  • your mana curve is currently very high, and I would heavily suggest trying to lower it. I would suggest playing nothing above 4 mana, and the only 4-mana cards should be Sheoldred, the Apocalypse (although you could also additionally run The One Ring). All other cards should be 1-3 mana.

  • your very-low count of 1-mana cards might mean you’re playing from behind in a lot of the game. I’d suggest at least trying to run 8-10 1-mana cards total. Both Fatal Push and Cling to Dust work well there.

  • the equipment cards you’re running are cute, but too slow/clumsy to be useful.

  • Cabal Coffers is only ever worth running in decks that can quickly fetch up the pieces to make it useful (namely, it also needs Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in play). Unless you’re running a deck dedicated to assembling big-mana, i’d ditch it. Same goes for Crypt of Agadeem - its too clumsy to be helpful, and can actively hurt you.

I too have a Chainer list. One of my favorite classic commanders.

Deserted Temple is so useful with those big mana lands.

Crypt of Agadeem to finish out the playset of big mana lands.

I run Dark Petition and Demonic Collusion. The synergy with Chainer can't be ignored.
