Cruel Celebrant

Creature — Vampire

Whenever Cruel Celebrant or another creature or planeswalker you control dies, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

I have replaced Cruel Celebrant with Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, because Elas has deathtouch, which shall help to send creatures to my opponents' graveyards, so that I can then take them with Tariel. Unfortunately, Elas's ability does not trigger when she, herself dies, which is unfortunate, but that is only a minor inconvenience compared to the additional benefits that she has.

This seems pretty decent for a budget brew - so good work!

These are some other cards to consider for the deck and theme. I would suggest using a 24/36 ratio (24 lands to 36 non lands). This gives you the best probability to draw a land every third or fourth turn, which will let you work your way up the mana curve. You should also strive for a nice bell curve on the mana graph if possible. A couple of 1 drops, a few 2 drops, a handful of 3's, a handful of 4's and then back down to a couple of 5 or 6's. Anything more costly than that can be hard to play or not quick enough for some games. And a couple of "responses" is good, ie "destroy target creature" or "exile target enchantment" Probably don't need more than 4-6 in a 60 card deck. I would pick 3-4 really important creatures, like Vito and indulging patrician and bloodthirsty aerialist, for the deck's theme and include 4 copies of them (except legendary creatures since you are only allowed to have one of them on the board at a time and you don't always want to draw a second one to just hold in your hand forever, so maybe drop it to 3(?) or keep at 4 if you think it's important enough). Then pick some "support" cards that help the theme along. In this case stuff like your card draw vampire would be a good choice. A couple of card draw type cards is great. For really expensive costing cards, 6+ mana, they should be your finishers. Once they hit the board you should be on your way to victory, so hopefully just 1 or 2 copies is enough. For a life gain theme, your defiant bloodlord or sanguine bond, is perfect. For a +1/+1 counter theme, you may want to look at splashing red for those vampires instead of white. I would focus on one or the other to streamline the deck to help you narrow down your choices for cards. I've mostly included the vampires with life gain/drain mechanics, but I can look into the +1/+1 counters vampires if you want as well. I like the vampire themes! A powerful tribe in magic!

I have replaced Blazing Specter, Pain Magnification, and Searing Meditation with Blazing Hellhound, Cruel Celebrant, and Mayhem Devil, which lowered the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.84 to 3.82, since the newer cards better suit the theme of this deck.

Don't play Karoo, Sunlit Marsh, Goldmire Bridge and The Fair Basilica.

Instead play Shambling Vent, Isolated Chapel, Caves of Koilos, Silverquill Campus, Shineshadow Snarl, Orzhov Basilica, Brightclimb Pathway  Flip, Fetid Heath.

Shaile, Dean of Radiance  Flip has no real synergy with your deck. Replace it with Bygone Bishop, which is a good Cleric

This type of decks is usually called "Aristocrats". If you really want to be a sacrifice deck, you should add additional cards that trigger whenever a creature dies, such as Sanguinary Priest, Rotlung Reanimator, Blood Artist or Cruel Celebrant.

This is a neat build. At first I was turned off by the redundancy of the creatures overlapping with Atheros ability. I figured ETB/LTB effects would be the best way to abuse Atheros. But I am sucker for gimmicks/themes and I like the direction of this.

Bloodghast and Nether Traitor are auto includes to this strategy.

PlagueSpitter would be an upgrade to Noxious Field.

Deathgreeter, Cruel Celebrant, Daxos, Blessed by the Sun, Harvester of Souls, Body Launderer, Pitiless Plunderer, etc. type effects might be the engine missing from this strategy.

Vanishing Verse is slowly becoming one of my favorite removal spells. It would round out the playset of Orzhov exile.

Crypt of Agadeem on theme land.

And as always Null Brooch = <3

I have an Elenda deck as well! I would highly recommend Massacre Girl. As long as Elenda has at least 1 counter on her already, and assuming there's other small creatures out, Massacre Girl will kill everything but Elenda and herself, and Elenda will witness every death and love every second of it. Personally, I found the creatures that did single target damage on creature death (Blood Artist and Falkenrath Noble, namely) to be expendable. Looks like you've got almost all the important hitters that ding everyone else when your creatures die (Zulaport Cutthroat, Cruel Celebrant, and Bastion of Remembrance) and that is usually enough. Although you are missing Vindictive Vampire. I'd also recommend Grim Haruspex for card draw, although tokens dying don't trigger it. Feel free to check out my list here! Dusk Rose Parade
