We don’t have any early accelerator cards left in the format beyond Chancellor of the Tangle and Gemstone Caverns (which both weaken consistency at the cost of explosiveness, completely balanced). A 2 cmc card that only punishes fetches and cards like that wouldn’t be too broken.

Also, people could adjust away from fetches if they saw the card too much, but like I said that makes Blood Moon more powerful. The problem with fetches is they can fetch basics against the hate, basically blanking it in most cases.

This would allow them to still play fetches, but they wouldn’t be able to produce mana with them without some type of Prismatic Omen, Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, or Dryad of the Ilysian Grove effect.

There’s enough ways to work around (or remove) such an effect, but attacking greedy manabases from multiple fronts is something I think we need.

I think the card slot Persist occupies could be better filled by something else. The only viable target is Chancellor of the Tangle and that card alone doesn’t really validate its inclusion. Consider a play set of Dark Ritual instead, as fast mana seems to be a priority here.

I really like how nutty Chancellor of the Tangle makes everything. Getting out a turn-1 Stoneforge Mystic just applies soo much pressure.

cyeRunner thanks for the suggestion! I tried Castle Locthwain during playtesting, the etb tapped in this deck I think is a bit too much of a downside both for early tempo and it forces to mulligan single land hands which would be good (Chancellor of the Tangle + Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar + Street Wraith or Chancellor of the Tangle + Unmarked Grave + Persist), plus the four lands to draw a card is probably not too relevant since this isn't a grindy deck, not to mention the dead cards that pile up and increase the damage. Hive of the Eye Tyrant fixes the control matchup since it is a constant source of damage, and in most cases it's not easily interactable, for drawn out games, and it etbs untapped if you have less than two lands, which is the critical number for this deck to function properly.

I've looked at this some more and there isn't a t1 win currently. The mana from gemstone is used with pull or haggle and can't help to pay the 2nd mana needed for Goryo's vengeance. You are looking at t2 earliest unless you get Chancellor of the Tangle helping you out here. If you wanted to try that, I would trim a couple lands for it.

I'd say that evoke cards where you exile a card to pay the cost, like Fury and its cycle, the Force of Vigor cycle, the Nourishing Shoal cycle are all some solid options here.

Paradise Mantle would definitely be a solid option as a free card that could potentially do something for you, but I'm struggling to think up a way to get that one mana without lands to equip, since Mox Opal and Simian Spirit Guide are both banned. Leyline of Abundance might be worth considering as well, but it's probably not that amazing, since you'd only have the mantle to enable it.

Ah - Chancellor of the Tangle

Ok, now that you can produce some mana, you could potentially do some really stupid stuff, not sure how far down the rabbit hole you want to go though.

I'd say a solid enabler as well would be Wild Cantor since it is two colors for your free cards if you decide to go that route, and it could store your mana from Chancellor of the Tangle

You could also now play Aether Vial to cheat stuff in.

There's lots of convoke cards begging to be broken as well, and you can get black creatures out in the form of Salvage Titan, so that's just something to think about.

If you were willing to play some of the flip lands that are technically not lands, I'm sure you could do some crazy convoluted stuff and win with Laboratory Maniac without lands, but it would no longer be an affinity deck, and you could argue it did technically have lands. I'm thinking convoke Endless Obedience into Angel of Glory's Rise after basically dumping your deck into the graveyard.

That's a far cry from the current build of the deck, so I'm just mentioning it instead of suggesting it.

Hello legendofa,

I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.
