StopShot on Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Crimson …

I'd like to see a second wave of foretell cards. Innistrad is a spooky realm and foretell would be great in terms of suspense and surprise. It would also work really well with werewolf flip mechanics as you can turn multiple cards in hand face down without actually casting anything just to flip your werewolves.

I would absolutely love to see a complete set for Nimbus Maze or even Grove of the Burnwillows , but I'm willing to bet they're going to complete the Lorehold Campus cycle just under a different naming scheme for ally lands.

Lastly I do hope Investigate returns as a mechanic or they make another white draw effect like they've done the last two times with Mentor of the Meek and Bygone Bishop .

Also can we please get a Slender Man EDH commander? Seriously, what is that thing in Certain Death ?

if this deck is for casual then i'd say its pretty alright for a fun break from the norm. Only 10 cards short of a commander deck too if you want to go that route. But if you're looking for more competitiveness, I'd say to do the following:

The first thing we need to do before anything, is to figure out the strategy we're going for. Obviously a token based liliana deck is way out of reasonable budgets. The blue you added does give me an idea for a control based zombie deck.

So the first thing to do is remove the cards above 60 that we wouldn't need, along with cards that will don't either assist or protect our strategies. I would start by removing the following: 2 - Advanced Stitchwing. 2 - Certain Death. 1 - Collective Brutality. 1 - Corrupt. 1 - Corrupted Roots. 2 - Disentomb. 1 - Doom Blade. 1 - Essence Harvest. 1 - Gnawing Zombie. 1 - Grixis Slavedriver. 1 - Grixis Grimblade. 1 - Hunted Ghoul. 1 - Haunted Dead. 3 - Ingenious Skaab. 4 - Laboratory Brute. 1 - Lamplighter of Selhoff. 1 - Maalfeld Twins. 2 - Macabre Waltz. 2 - Midnight Recovery. 1 - Mistvein Borderpost. 1 - Moan of the Unhallowed. 2 - Paranoid Delusions. 1 - Polluted Dead. 2 - Psychic Strike. 1 - Recover. 1 - Rise from the Grave. 1 - Scrapskin Drake. 1 - Shambling Attendants. 1 - Sibsig Host. 1 - Sibsig Muckdraggers. 1 - Sidisi's Pet. 1 - Sip of Hemlock. 1 - Skinrender. 1 - Spineless Thug. 1 - Stitched Mangler. 2 - Thraben Foulbloods. 1 - Strange Augmentation. 1 - Undead Executioner. 1 - Zombie Outlander. 15 - Swamp. 10 - Island.

It IS Quite a lot, but it's because we need to make room for the cards that'll make the bulk of our strategy, not to mention there are cheaper, better alternatives to most of these cards (lands were removed because the mana base will be changed later). With these cards taken out, that leaves us with the following: 3 - Cemetery Recruitment. 1 - Ghastly Conscription. 1 - Sign in Blood. 1 - Graf Harvest. 1 - Rooftop Storm. 2 - Gavony Unhallowed. 1 - Jhessian Zombies. 1 - Vedalken Ghoul.

these are pretty linearly focused for an effective strategy. to fluff out the rest of the cards for the deck, I'd recommend:

+1 - Cemetery Recruitment. +3 - Sign in Blood. +4 - Mana Leak. +3 - Duress. +3 - Vedalken Ghoul. +3 - Jhessian Zombies. +1 - Rooftop Storm. +4 - Go for the Throat. +4 - Rotting Rats. +3 - Claim / Fame.

DemonDragonJ, you must be disappointed every set then - Contract Killing, Lethal Sting, Torment of Venom, Vanquish the Weak, Tidy Conclusion, Certain Death, Murderous Compulsion are all worse cards than the ones you listed, in just the last year. It is almost as if Wizards prints removal like that based on the needs of the Limited environment in the set.

anything with extort that's at least a little good. Basilica Screecher, Kingpin's Pet, Treasury Thrull, Thrull Parasite or Pontiff of Blight

Battlegrace Angel possibly not good enough

Blood Artist or Falkenrath Noble

Bloodbond Vampire for a back up karlov. this is iffy

Chant of Vitu-Ghazi, remember to block then tap for convoke.

Contemplation, combo off!

Disciple of Griselbrand, or Disciple of Bolas let you convert a big karlov to something else

Honor the Fallen - on theme graveyard hate that's also a combat trick

Mastery of the Unseen this needs a lot of mana to be great, but maybe you'll get some good use out of it. It's kinda iffy though

Patron of the Kitsune and Righteous Cause are VIP's with karlov

Resplendent Mentor this could be an all star if you go heavy white

Royal Herbalist combat tricks for karlov

Soldier of the Pantheon

Suture Priest

Vampiric Rites

Vizkopa Confessor

Wingmate Roc

Exsanguinate is good

Well of Lost Dreams and Alhammarret's Archive are nifty but expensive on the $budget$

Use all the life you gain for benefits, like card draw! Ambition's Cost, Ancient Craving, Graveborn Muse, Night's Whisper, Ob Nixilis Reignited, Phyrexian Arena, Read the Bones, Dark Tutelage, Underworld Connections

or recursion Phyrexian Reclamation

budget cuts might include, Ajani Goldmane, Lightning Greaves (this might be Swiftfoot Boots), Angelic Chorus

Some possible cuts

Rupture Spire, Shimmering Grotto, Transguild Promenade - two color decks don't need to slow down this much for mana fixing

Sacred Cat dosen't seem strong enough for commander

Bond of Agony seems bad, maybe Exsanguinate

Orzhov Charm What mode are you adding this for?

Doom Blade could be Go for the Throat if your meta/budget allows for it

Darksteel Ingot, Orzhov Cluestone, Orzhov Keyrune could be cut for a 2 mana rock, Fellwar Stone, Mind Stone, Star Compass. Maybe one of those

Blind Hunter, Blood Tithe, Agent of Masks, Certain Death don't seem strong enough

Hello ! I think first 20 land is not enough to play Lilianna planeswalker at 7CMC and other card at 5 or 6 CMC, you need 25 26 land to put a land each turn. You must focus on one stratgie in standard. Here you play mostly zombie so try to play card only zombie to find better synergie. Horror of the Broken Lands, Ruthless Sniper, and Baleful Ammit don't synergie with Liliana's Mastery for example. ON budget you can find great card zombie and you can find better control card.

List of suggestion : Stir the Sands, Nerver // Return, Yahenni's Expertise, Fatal Push not very expensive jus Fatal Push. To replace not zombie card, Certain Death, Final Reward and add more Doomed Dissenter, Lord of the Accursed.

To finish Bloodhunter Bat and Raise Dead are illegal in Standard format.

Good luck with your deck =).

Hi, welcome to magic!

I guess I'm going to have to be the anoying guy that tells you this. You shouldn't make a more than 60-card deck unless you REALLY know what you are doing. The only thing that this does for you is reducing the chances of getting your combos on. Everybody goes through the phase of wanting too many combo possibilities in their deck and ends up doing this.

You shouldn't put one copy of many cards unless, again, you REALLY know what you are doing. This reduces the chances of getting what you want when you want, and although it looks like you are adding flexibility to your deck, you are reducing it's consistency.

I understand your gameplans here, but you don't need this variety and size to make it work!

Another thing, Platinum Angel sounds great, and is great! But you really need to have your deck figured out to deal with it. It's very common for an opponent reduce you to 0 life and remove it in some way that you aren't expecting, and you just opened a comfortable window for him to go all in on you without consequences. Remember that you CAN'T WIN the game with his ability, no matter what the win condition is.

These huge mana costs cards like Draco usually are just used if you have some strategy for getting it on early. Its ability will just reduce it's cost by 4, because you deck only have 2 basic land types. The enemy will probably finish you off before that, even your deck being all about control (which it can do better then it currently does).

The last thing I can easily see is that the cards that are meant to "hold the opponent" as you said are far too mana heavy. Stuffy Doll, using the example that you gave, is a 5-cost, thats huge! Your opponent will have his game set by then (and I didn't understand well how this card would protect you). Other of one of the control cards you have, Certain Death is a 6-cost for a simple spot removal! It could be swaped for Murder for example, that isn't yet the best card for the situation but it's much better then Certain Death. If it's the life gain that you want, you could go for Essence Extraction, that can remove must of the creatures and is a 3-cost (still not the best choice, but another example).

Well, that's what I have for now. Hope I helped in someway and that the text wasn't too long. I wish the best to you, and hope that you become a great magic player! Sorry for the grammar errors, english is not my native language.

BlueScope well there is the card Certain Death that kills a creature and makes it's controller bleed 2 so that is one card that can destroy a creature and "deal damage" (it's not damage it's bleeding since the card says "it's controller loses 2 life")
