Brazen Borrower

Creature — Faerie Rogue

Flash

Flying

Brazen Borrower can block only creatures with flying.

(You may cast Brazen Borrower from exile if you sent it on an adventure.)

Petty Theft

Instant — Adventure

Return target nonland permanent an opponent controls to its owner's hand.

(Then send this card on an Adventure in exile. You may cast the creature portion from exile.)

(You may cast Petty Theft for from anywhere that you have the permission to cast this, then exile it on an adventure instead of putting it into your graveyard. When you have not chosen to cast Petty Theft, this card is treated only as Brazen Borrower in whatever zone it is in.)

(When not exiled on an adventure, Adventure cards function identically to modal double faced cards when regarding to the interactions of cards that look at them or attempt to cast them.)

TheCardPool Here is the version I quickly came up w/ based on your list. You'll see that I've made about 10 swaps based on my preferences.

Some of the cards I removed are Cyclonic Rift, Wash Away, Mana Drain, Teferi, Master of Time, Mystical Tutor, Personal Tutor, and so on.

Some of the cards I added are Brazen Borrower, Wavebreak Hippocamp, Traverse Eternity, Rise from the Tides, Glamdring, Runechanter's Pike, and so on.

My group def doesn't normally play tutors or cyc rift. I love bad cards like Rise from the Tides and I'm toying around with trying out Invasion of Segovia  Flip, Case of the Ransacked Lab, and Throne Of Eldraine.

I love the animate land sub theme!

Anything else I should know?

What I understand it could change based on the situation, but what do you normally target w/ Intuition?

Have you ever come close to decking yourself? I've never played a cantrip-y deck like this before.

4 Stitcher's Supplier 4 Hedron Crab 3 Satyr Wayfinder 4 Urborg Lhurgoyf 4 Cruel Somnophage 4 Souls of the Lost 2 Nighthowler 3 Grist, the Hunger Tide 2 Wonder 4 Unearth 3 Brazen Borrower 1 Sidisi, Brood Tyrant 1 Glasspool Mimic  Flip 1 Kazandu Mammoth  Flip

1 Svogthos, the Restless Tomb

That's a good base. Take what works and replace what you don't like.

Exp. I've been playing iterations of this for years now and eight one drops are important. You need to start filling your gy ASAP. These are the two best. If you don't want to go into blue, there are cards like Gnawing Vermin but for me, m2 isn't enough. The -1/-1 is helpful so there is some leeway based on META. If I dabble in other colors, Shriekhorn is my go-to.

Satyr's spot can be removed but I play a low land count due to the two modal lands (Glasspool/Mammoth). Mire Triton is another favorite because Deathtouch and gainlfie. It's also a META call. I don't like others like Skull Prophet. If I were playing The Mycotyrant I'd consider it because it 'mills over time' (MOT) but once your opp sees what youre on theyd kill it before you get a chance to use it.

So, in this list I'm 12 goyfs. Eight can self-mill (SM) and the other is useful (Souls) in getting Wonder out of your hand. You can also sac Stitcher to it if you're a T1 Stitcher T2 Souls. Every card in this deck is a permanent besides Unearth so if you fetched at all, you could have a T2 6/6-8/8 Souls of the Lost and that aint to shabby.

I have always played at least 1-2 Nighthowler. It makes those Stitchers, Crabs, and Satyrs a threat and more often than not, takes two spells to kill it (when it's bestowed).

I view this deck as a sort of aggro deck and keeping with 99% creature theme, Grist and Brazen Borrower are my interaction. You can bring in whatever you want (obviously) but it's also provides fliers for Nighthowler, Grist has a built in win-con and protects itself. I always play a Boseiju, Who Endures and if I play more, -1 Unearth for Life from the Loam and if I'm really frisky, I'll add a few more legends, play more of the Channel Lands and another Life/Loam. I've got a oops all Channel lands were all the other lands are Modal and I play Amulet of Vigor with Shriekhorn and use Emry, Lurker of the Loch as a self-mill recur piece. It's fun.

Sidisi is a MOT that can help you go wide. Every time you mill, you get a zombie. I use this in near every build when I'm in color. I've tested Blossoming Tortoise but save that for a Mosswort Bridge version I play and if I can't get that going I want to be able to cast the top end. Shigeki, Jukai Visionary, Molderhulk, Aether Vial + Dryad Arbor help get me there. But just playing the new Squirming Emergence is so much easier than playing all those other cards.

You can find a way to bring in draw, life, other interaction, etc.. it's on you. There are times were I play Jace, the Perfected Mind or Visions of Beyond for draw. Spellstutter Sprite and a few spots for other faeries like Likeness Looter (flying faerie goyfs!).

But that's the base. Do what you want.. because you can literally do anything. I've got a junk list focused on recur with Unearth, Renegade Rallier, Necropanther, Athreos, God of Passage... a jund/grixis list that uses Ob Nixilis, the Adversary and Orcish Bowmasters (sac goyf to etb Ob Nix, Token Ob forces opp to draw 7 for -7 life. Bowmasters deals another 6 plus you get a 6/6 orc token (+2 more for paper Ob +1 if they can't discard). That's a 15 point swing, not including attacks. Another Grixis list that plays Kroxa, Flamewake Phoenix, Seasoned Pyromancer and Ox.

My favorite - game 1, I'm a mill deck that sideboard converts into self-mill game 2. It still deals with the gy but game 1 youre spell heavy and game 2 youre creature heavy.

Anyway, have fun.

in my experience Subtlety is kind of lackluster in murktide and I think it would be better to go up to 18 lands or switch it for Brazen Borrower

Oh yes I've been feeling that On Thin Ice is a bit redundant here because of the Paths and the adventure from Brazen Borrower. I didn't think about things like Engineered Explosives or Ratchet Bomb and they are surely a threat to be addressed. Pithing Needle not only handles those but many other troublesome cards too. I have a couple of copies on other decks and this one should definitely benefit from them. Thank you!

Thank you! It's simple but dangerous. Yes I've been thinking about adding Brazen Borrower and I found after some playtests that it is very useful. While Thraben Watcher's ability is very nice to have, Brazen is cheaper and looks like a more versatile card

This deck looks really good. The only thing I'm going to say is I'd take out Thraben Watcher for something like Brazen Borrower or Hypnotic Sprite on your current 20 lands you might have troubles getting 4 in a game.

Hello wallisface , i know that Peppersmoke Is kinda suboptimal as a removal spell but It can deal with the nasty 1 toughness creatures in the First turns and replace itself , i find the drawing part a good thing in an Aether Vial deck , especially if only a Few creatures do It and in a very suboptimal way. As of Noggin Whack , with all the early Little flyers i find It useful to cast It on turn 2 and slow the opponent gameplan , maybe its Just because i have a soft spot for this card ... I'll test It more!

Faerie Impostor Is not as bad as It seems , i can use to bounce back in hand a spellstutter Sprite to reuse the counterspell , or a Brazen Borrower or Faerie Miscreant to draw more ( if Two of them were on the battlefield) . With aether vial on can also be used for protection . Oona's prowler and nightshade stinger are here Just because theres nothing Better than them : faeries lack lords and im using Oona's Blackguard as One , so i Need to prefer rogues over other subtypes. Btw im deciding if One more spellstrut Is worth One less bitterblossom

Coward_Token - As far as the reprints go, nothing on the level of The Chain Veil in Commander Masters, though if this set came out before Commander Masters, Kindred Dominance would've been up there, but there are some solid ones:

Umbra Mystic (first reprint besides the list), Utopia Sprawl, Bear Umbra, Mantle of the Ancients, and Hall of Heliod's Generosity headline the enchantment deck.

Kindred Dominance, Glen Elendra Archmage, Brazen Borrower, and Scion of Oona headline the faerie deck.

Nothing spectacular, but a decent bunch of reprints none-the-less.
