Hey Crow_Umbra! Thank you for the feedback! Yeah. I'm still working out those types of kinks. The play testing I've done thus far has all just been via tappedout playtest system. But yeah. I'll probably add in other staples as I weed out the unnecessary sub-themes. There's just so much fun to be thrown in, it's hard. Lol. Didn't even try for Blasphemous Act or Damnation. Since it's not super creature heavy and mainly slants more towards enchantments, added creature boardwipes and spot removal sounds perfect. Because I won't be blocking with Obeka unless I have to. Enchantment removal is definitely something I'll look at. Maybe artifact removal too since my playgroup seems to slant more towards that than enchantments, but great suggestions. I'll need to eventually make room for some removal for sure. Counterspells have always been more defensively played for me as they're basically "remove target permanent" before they enter the battlefield, and give me a little more general application. But yeah. We'll see where it lands. If you've got any more suggestions, I'm all ears, and definitely check back! This thing's gonna evolve for years to come. Lol.

Ninth Bridge Patrol will be destroyed and won't get counters.

A creature getting destroyed for lethal damage is one of the game's "state based actions" (SBAs). Right before each time a player would get priority to take another action, the game checks for any necessary SBAs and processes them all simultaneously (it checks again to see if that caused any more SBAs to come up and only moves on once there's nothing left to do). In your example this means all the creatures lethally damaged by Blasphemous Act die simultaneously, including Ninth Bridge Patrol. Technically the Patrol does trigger all those times since a "leaves the battlefield" ability can see other things that leave the battlefield the same time as its source, but when those triggers resolve nothing will happen because the object they would have put the counters on is gone.

If I control 14 creatures including Ninth Bridge Patrol and then cast Blasphemous Act, is he destroyed? I believe the answer is yes, but I also realize he still has his ability trigger 13 times. I’m a bit confused about the order of events.

am3ience : Doesn't look like Guerric has been on in over a year so his list is a little outdated. He also made some budget choices. Depending on the power level of your pod you may want to look at stronger support. I've been playing Giada semi-regularly since release and my list has evolved over time:

https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/help-me-giada-youre-my-only-hope/

There a few notable angels in the year since this list:

Inspiring Overseer - while it released the same time as Giada, Guerric didn't include it. When you're going for a blink theme and Sword of Hearth and Home is out then you can essentially gain life and draw an extra card once per turn.

Guardian of Ghirapur - if you have any ETB effect angels then this one can help immensely. Or if you picked up Throne of Eldraine then you can reset it, leaving 4 white up on opponents turns which is typically the magic number for protection.

Metropolis Reformer - It's a cheap angel at 2W, has vigilance as a keyword, provides us hexproof from targeted spells and semi-lifegain from blocks or a Blasphemous Act

Firemane Commando - While it's a 4 drop it provides much needed draw off attacks which you should be doing every turn.

Roaming Throne - Not technically an angel but it doubles all the triggers. If you check my list I have categories of Angel Triggers. Anything with the keywords "At, When, or Whenever" will be doubled. Unfortunately it doesn't double Giada herself as that's a replacement effect but it can still get out of hand very quickly.

Wojek Investigator - Also a cheap angel at 2W with vigilance and usually a free clue every turn I'd consider it a strict upgrade over Angelic Sleuth. However, if you need more card draw support I'd personally pick Esper Sentinel, Archivist of Oghma or The One Ring.

I didn't add Aurelia's Vindicator or Merchant of Truth because their abilities don't justify the mana cost.

If you like Aurelia's Vindicator ability I'd recommend Angel of Serenity as the Disguise cost and ability is the same as Serenity but you don't have to jump through hoops of turning it face up. Also, you can target it with an Ephemerate or Teleportation Circle to get more than one usage out if it.

Hey Indie,

First off I really like the lands you have assembled and the suggestions from SufferFromEDHD are all good.

You are definitely going to want an artifact ramp package.

Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Arcane Signet, Fellwar Stone, Gilded Lotus, Thran Dynamo

Special Mention to Nyx Lotus, it could be good being in mono black. and Jeweled Lotus, pays for your commander for free on turn 1 even.

Sword of the Animist is not bad ramp at all and buffs yours rats

Commander's Plate might be cute.

Liliana of the Dark Realms, makes sure you always get a land drop and could make your swamps tap for four.

Chittering Witch if your playing with more opponents.

Crypt Ghast is sort of ramp, but doubles your swamps. Very good in mono black.

Dauthi Voidwalker is not on theme at all but is just sooo much value in a two cost card I have to recommend it.

God-Eternal Bontu is excellent draw power in the right situation.

Dont forget you can run any number of Relentless Rats

Gray Merchant of Asphodel will heal you up a lot and hurt your opponents

Krav, the Unredeemed is also great card draw.

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, has card draw, removal, and proliferate all on one card

Deadly Rollick, potentially free removal

Defile, cheap good removal

Thrilling Encore saves you from a board wipe or lets you bring everything back after sacrificing it all to like God-Eternal Bontu

Phyrexian Arena some ok card draw.

Bojuka Bog if you are worried about graveyards

Mutilate, a good board wipe in mono black

Night's Whisper, Read the Bones, Sign in Blood, are a great draw package for mono black

Toxic Deluge a great board wipe for when things need resetting, and you could follow with Thrilling Encore and get it all back

Syphon Mind is great draw if your playing with more players

Victimize - is really really strong, get rid of one weak thing for two of your best things

Yawgmoth's Will - lets you treat your graveyard like your hand for a turn

Lord Skitter, Sewer King makes rats

Marrow-Gnawer - lets you make lots of rats

Infectious Inquiry - good draw and gives poison

Ogre Slumlord - makes rats when your creatures or your opponents creatures die.

Tangled Colony - if your opponent has to block it or it dies to like Blasphemous Act will make you rats

Vraska's Fall removal and poison counter

Drown in Ichor removal and poison

Bontu's Monument all your creatures cost less

Rat Colony can have any number and they buff themselves, and cost less mana than Relentless Rats

Typhoid Rats deathtouch rat opponents wont want to block

Crypt Rats can board wipe but can also win the game if you give it infect, doesnt work with your commander because toxic specifies combat damage but does work if you give it infect and deal damage with it's ability.

Ratcatcher tutors rats, and gives you card advantage

Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm - buffs your rats and lets you get rats back

Wave of Rats has blitz and reanimates itself

Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni rat that steals opponents stuff

Nashi, Moon Sage's Scion rat that steals opponents stuff

Adaptive Automaton is a rat and buffs rats

Okiba-Gang Shinobi rat makes opponents discard and has ninjutsu

Filth gives all your rats swampwalk pairs well with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

Dark Ritual lets your get a head start or some extra mana a turn you need it

Tainted Strike instant speed infect, funny in multiplayer because you can use it on anyone's creatures.

Phyresis Outbreak gives poison and might kill opponents creatures

Feed the Swarm enchantment removal in black

Vat Emergence gets a creature back and proliferates

Spread the Sickness destroys a creatures and proliferates

Pact of the Serpent strong tribal card draw

Living Death swap graveyards with battlefields, great after sacrificing your whole board to draw cards

Skullclamp sack small rats for card draw

Thrumming Stone if you go the Relentless Rats or Rat Colony route

Coat of Arms your rats will be huge

Bolas's Citadel this card is dumb lol, lots of casting power and then you hit Gray Merchant of Asphodel and keep going lol

Icon of Ancestry kinda draw buffs rats...is ok

Contagion Engine proliferate twice each time you activate

Eldrazi Monument gives creatures flying indestructible and +1/+1

Grafted Exoskeleton gives a creature infect, great with Crypt Rats

Sword of Truth and Justice proliferate sword

Bad Moon buff all black creatures, opponents too

Phyresis gives infect again good with Crypt Rats

Greed card draw

Vraska, Betrayal's Sting proliferate planes walker

I know that's a lot but hopefully gave you some ideas to work with!

Doombeard1984 on Slivers Everywhere

Hello there. +1 for a fellow denizen of the Hive.

Just a couple questions/suggestions.

  • Whilst Survival of the Fittest is an amazing card, is it really that useful considering your commander can literally tutor ever creature in your deck? Feels like, whilst a lovely flex of a card, seems a little redundant considering you have an ability in the command zone, which also doesnt mean you need to discard a creature as well. Maybe worth looking at something like a Training Grounds to reduce the cost of Sliver Overlord's ability.

  • You are pretty light on interaction. As a Sliver player you are likely going to be targetted lol. I know that pain. You also dont have much in the way of spot removal. I kind of feel that there is an oversaturation of Slivers in the deck, that maybe arent necessarily needed. Looking at removal, protection (Teferi's Protection and other cards like Heroic Intervention), and you could also consider counter magic maybe.

  • Knowing how you are looking to win ould make it much easier to offer suggestions on your brood. Are you looking to go wide, combo win?

  • Patriarch's Bidding is another really good reccursion spell which you are much more likely to benefit from than others.

  • Coat of Arms is scary against any other Tribal/Typal deck. Do you need it when you have Sliver Legion?

  • Cover of Darkness seems redundant when you have Shifting Sliver which is just better for you.

  • I am a big fan of Blasphemous Act in combination with Spiteful Sliver. Can genuinely be a win con in itself. Especially against those opponents using things preventing you from attacking or going full send attack.

Hope this helps, and feel free to pop over and visit my hive anytime
