Battle for Bretagard

Enchantment — Saga

(As this Saga enters the battlefield and after your draw step, put a lore counter on it and activate and/or enable the ability of tied to the required number of counters. Sacrifice it after you put a third lore counter on it.)

— Create a 1/1 white Human Warrior creature token.

— Create a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token.

— Choose any number of artifact tokens and/or creature tokens you control with different names. For each of them, create a token that's a copy of it.

Looks fun! You're probably better off going with a more stomp-y strategy, as aggro has a tougher time in commander than 1v1 formats.

Maja, Bretagard Protector can be a reliable token maker and anthem.

Battle for Bretagard can also help you make a bunch of tokens.

Soul's Attendant if you want an extra Soul Warden

Basri Ket is also worth considering!

plakjekaas That's possible. But to me, Battle - Duel or Battle - Riot or Battle - Skirmish or whatever seem more like instants or sorceries, or maybe enchantments. Alpha Brawl, Spectacular Showdown, Massive Raid, these all share that flavor space (and I wish I could come up with some non-red examples off the top of my head). All of these could potentially be reprinted as story spotlights in some future set, like Renewed Faith from Onslaught to Amonkhet.

Conflict is everywhere in a game about conflict, and I'm sure I'm thinking too small, and biased by what we have now instead of what could be coming in the future. Looking at current story spotlight cards, some that I would consider as flavorfully battles are Battle at the Bridge, Battle for Bretagard (these even have Battle in the name), Eiganjo Uprising, Hostile Takeover, Hour of Glory, Mage Hunters' Onslaught, Rampage of the Clans, Storm the Citadel, and The Fall of Kroog. These can easily be thematically redesigned as battle cards.

So I'm not saying you're wrong, but those types of events just don't fit my current mental picture of a battle. That's why I said battles probably aren't a strictly necessary addition to the game--they're mechanically new and interesting, but what flavor space can they carve out for themselves? Or will they simply take over this flavor space, and we're going to see less major-combat-themed cards of other types?

Oh, 1 more token producer I'm fond of is Battle for Bretagard. With nothing else out it'll make 4x tokens over the few turns and it can come down early enough to give Jetmir's first bonus if Jetmir comes out on turn 4.

OK here we go lol

Creature cuts: Archon of Sun's Grace, Composer of Spring, Courser of Kruphix, Doomwake Giant, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove, Nessian Wanderer, Nyx Weaver

Artifact cuts: Mesmeric Orb, Whip of Erebos

Enchantment cuts: Battle for Bretagard, Boon of the Spirit Realm, Cast Out, Exploration, Familiar Ground

Sorcery cuts: Extinguish All Hope, Kodama's Reach, Rampant Growth, Skyshroud Claim

Instant cuts: None! Add things like Veil of Summer & Silence, though

I'd recommend that you replace all of those lands ramp spells that cost more than 2 with more mana rocks instead! Your guild signets (Selesnya Signet, Orzhov Signet & Golgari Signet) & talismans (Talisman of Hierarchy, Talisman of Resilience & Talisman of Unity) are all better options since this isn't a Landfall deck.

It isn't a forced draw because it isn't a loop of mandatory actions. In your example you have choices about what to copy with Battle for Bretagard's final chapter ability, and one or more of those choices (i.e. anything other than the Battle, itself) will end the loop. In that situation, you have to decide on a finite number of iterations for the loop before changing your choice to something that will end it so the game can move on.

EDIT: For anyone who's wondering what's going on: Because of the two Doubling Seasons, the copies of Battle for Bretagard will enter the battlefield with 4 lore counters and immediately kick off the final chapter ability.

You can use double square brackets around a card's name to create a reference link: Anikthea, Hand of Erebos, Battle for Bretagard, Growing Ranks. It's the best way to help people understand what's going on in your question.

The copies of the tokens created in this example will also be 3/3 creatures. Copy effects take into account what's written on the original plus the results of any other copy effects that the original is subject to. This means if a copy effect makes a copy with some specific different characteristics from the original, those differences will carry over to any copies of that copy.

Yes, a Battle for Bretagard that also happens to be a creature token can make a copy of itself. A saga gets sacrificed when its last chapter ability fully resolves and leaves the stack, so it will be on the battlefield long enough for its effect to work on itself.

I'd suggest:

Killer Service swapped for Battle for Bretagard because you'll at least get better tokens with the latter.

Bennie Bracks, Zoologist for Welcoming Vampire because less mana cost, even if you have convoke, because early-game you won't have the creatures and late-game you won't struggle to pay the mana.

Remove Craterhoof Behemoth. You already have trample on your commander, and go-wide won't struggle to get the combat damage in. This card will likely be a dead card for most of the game, and by the point it'd win you the game, a board wipe/buffer should be able to do it anyways.

Add Search the Premises. Getting a token whenever someone swings at you heavily discourages attacks.
