Profet93 HA! I had like a 30 minute argument With a guy at work about Ashes to Ashes. His point was I didnt have any possible way to get around indestructible, so I eventually caved and added it. Id absolutely replace it for something that removes indestructible and still gives that death trigger. Honestly , I don't like Attrition much either, and would replace that too. Good comment!

Mattio38 - Two great sac outlets you might consider are Contamination and Attrition. I noticed you do seem to have a Treasure Token subtheme going on so Contamination will likely impact your opponents more than you and potentially complete lock them out if they are not running any . Attrition is great as is helps ensure that your opponents' board state is never to large are most aristocrat decks are built around creating lots of little things and sacrificing them for a net benefit so having the largest/biggest board state is not likely unless you interact often with your opponent. Butcher of Malakir provides a similar role but looks like would not be the most useful in your deck.

lhetrick13, I actually have Attrition lying around, but in my meta, a lot of the most vicious decks either have or else are Avacyn, Angel of Hope. Those are great cards, but in my meta would either be dead on board or get me hated out instantly.

I do like Contamination, though! I might have to try to squeeze it in somewhere...

Vessiliana - Out of curiosity, the two cards that made me want to build aristocrat commander decks were Contamination and Attrition. You try out either of those in this deck? Contamination has the ability to really lock out opponents if they are not running and Attrition has the ability to do some targeted removal. Mix in effects like Dictate of Erebos and it could be dastardly!

Welcome to the club, Novice_Necromancer!

Since you have a lot of small creatures that don't mind dying and coming back, Malevolent Awakening or Phyrexian Reclamation might fit in here, if they fit your budget. Dread Return, Blood for Bones, and Rescue from the Underworld are also worth considering. These will help keep your tempo up and your opponents down. Attrition is more expensive, but is a very efficient removal outlet.

I would like to see Attrition and Malevolent Awakening reprinted in this set, since both of those cards need to be reprinted, in my mind.

This is a really solid rat tribal deck! Don't get distracted like Volrath ("If there is such a thing as too much power, I have not discovered it." - Dark Ritual)

Cut one copy of Rat Colony for the Piper. 25% is a great ratio for your Thrumming Stone engine.

You have 7 non rat creatures... I think you could afford to make 3 cuts:

Gray Merchant of Asphodel is just good stuff. Does nothing for this strategy.

Species Specialist is fantastic! while Erebos, God of the Dead seems lackluster although the static ability is neat. Necropotence does it better.

Sheoldred, Whispering One is an EDH bomb but you are already running Attrition, Dictate of Erebos, Grave Pact AND No Mercy.
