Question about health on ETB

Asked by Wahzam 1 year ago

Say I have Trelasarra, Moon Dancer out and 2 creatures that BOTH state when another creature ETBs you gain 1 life. When I play another creature with all these in play would I gain 1 health twice, giving Trelasarra 2 counters or gain 1 life from each creature at the same time giving me 2 health at once and trelasarra only one counter?

Triggered abilities go on the stack and resolve independently. The following rule defines triggered abilities:

603.1. Triggered abilities have a trigger condition and an effect. They are written as “[When/Whenever/At] [trigger condition or event], [effect]. [Instructions (if any).]”

Creatures like Soul Warden or Soul's Attendant have triggered abilities.

The following rule is in regards to multiple triggered abilities triggering off of the same event:

603.3b If multiple abilities have triggered since the last time a player received priority, the abilities are placed on the stack in a two-part process. First, each player, in APNAP order, puts each triggered ability they control with a trigger condition that isn’t another ability triggering on the stack in any order they choose. (See rule 101.4.) Second, each player, in APNAP order, puts all remaining triggered abilities they control on the stack in any order they choose. Then the game once again checks for and performs state-based actions until none are performed, then abilities that triggered during this process go on the stack. This process repeats until no new state-based actions are performed and no abilities trigger. Then the appropriate player gets priority.

In short: You gain 1 life twice, triggering Trelasarra, Moon Dancer twice, creating two instances of a +1/+1 counter being placed and you scrying 1.
