Does Chromatic Orrery's passive ability work for abilities as well?

This might seems obvious but I just want to make sure I'm thinking about this correctly, but if I have an ability such as Master Transmuter and a Chromatic Orrery out, could I spent any color many to activate it, since chromatic orrery's passive doesn't specify spells?

Correct, it would specify that you can only use mana for spells. The way it is worded is you can use mana as if it is any color.
