Help needed with ultra-budget white aura deck!

Modern Deck Help forum

Hi guys n gals. I'm very new to MTG and currently playing with a similar version of Ultra-budget: Jedi Training Camp.

I just don't have Spirit Mantle because it's too expensive. I took out Battle Mastery to insert Ordeal of Heliod + Sunbond combo and added Open the Armory.

Could you guys suggest a sideboard? I need something to avoid boardwipes but can't choose between Ajani's Presence or Make a Stand. Remember it's a whole lotta auras so I can't exile the creatures and bring them back (Ex: Eerie Interlude ).

Any advice will be apreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hello! Welcome to Magic!

One question, is this a standard deck? Modern? Casual?

Im going to assume its casual...

Make a Stand is much better that Ajani's Presence b/c in presence, you have to pay an extra 3 mana per creature. Make a Stand you only have to pay 3 for it to protect ALL of your creatures.

For some win-cons, maybe Sigil of the Empty Throne? Starfield of Nyx, Myth Realized even..

Could you provide a decklist of what you have so far? That would be really helpful

Some good cards would be: Ethereal Armor, Sphere of Safety, Helm of the Gods.

Some good Creatures: Blessed Spirits, Mesa Enchantress, Ajani's Chosen

Hi, thanks for the help!

I'm running the exact list of this deck Ultra-budget: Jedi Training Camp.Only changes is that I've got 2x Gods Willing and 2x Emerge Unscathed instead of 4x emerge. And Ordeal of Heliod + Sunbond + Open the Armory instead of Battle Mastery and Spirit Mantle.

It's a modern deck but I'm only playing for fun.

I agree with what you said about Make a Stand, thanks.

Last, I'm sorry, but what are win-cons?

Thank you for your time.

It's what you use to win, but I see from that deck, you like to beat people's face with Graceblade Artisan

I absolutely love her!

Since I'm using the deck to be more fast paced, I've read at other posts people saying to drop Sigil of the Empty Throne and Starfield of Nyx.

But I really liked Myth Realized,Helm of the Gods and Ajani's Chosen. Any suggestions what to take out to insert them? Anything you think is essential to have?

Thanks again.

Since this is a fast paced deck, I wouldn't include Myth Realized, its kinda slow, and I would replace Akroan Skyguard with Ajani's Chosen. Im not sure what id take out for the Helm though.

I'll drop Helm of the Gods since Ethereal Armor will do more for less, and try to insert Ajani's Chosen since nobody seems to like Akroan Skyguard.

Thanks so much for you help!

Ajani's Chosen is far too expensive, at 4 CMC. You are far better off with the skyguard in my opinion. I would suggest more protection effects such as Emerge Unscathed, Gods Willing to give your creatures psuedo-hexproof when needed.

Hmm, and I won't have anything with flying whithout Akroan Skyguard. But with Ajani's Chosen I'll get more creatures for mid-late game.

Don't you think it'll be "too much protection" if I insert more of those? Because 2x Emerge Unscathed triggers twice + 2x Gods Willing + 2x Make a Stand goes for 8 protection cards. Every game I've played with this deck, I always had one of those cards in my hand. Not sure if more of those are needed.
