I'd really like to organize this into 5 creatures, 5 enchantments, and 5 instant/sorceries to present to the community. We currently have 10 creatures, 7 enchantments, and 7 instants/sorceries. Actually, it may be better to just have 7 of each then. If I take out the 3 creatures that only got a vote from me, we'll be at 7 of each type. Does this sound okay? In the meantime, I'll start turning these into concept cards.

mistergreen527 says... #4

When converting all of this text into proper WotC-speak, I noticed a few things I didn't notice before. Since some of the cards seem to have issues, I think that we should do the 5 of each type idea. Here are my thoughts on each card and whether or not I think they should be presented to the community.

Creatures:

Bagan's Golem: I agree with Xander574 with the card not fitting. The creature type is absurd and even if I change it to just "Mutant," it's still a blue card with abilities that belong in other colors (first strike = red, block any number of creatures white, sacrifice a creature = black). I vote NO.

Stridulating Swarm: Although I had originally voted for this card, I now think it is overpowered. I liked the idea of it changing based on its environment, but the positive aspects in flavor don't outweigh the negative aspects of being overpowered. I vote NO.

Amoeboid Impermanent: I originally didn't like this card because it seemed to mish-mashy. However, with a few small changed, I like it. I already removed Changeling. I also propose removing protection from black and protection from white, since these colors are foreign to Irindu. This makes it more similar to kithkin-zephynaut, while being different enough for them not to be connected. The shroud may also be overdoing, but I suppose it IS rare... If at least the protection is removed, I vote YES.

Flow Sphinx: The main reason I like this card is it encourages players to use cards with Flow. I feel like it's almost like a "Flow Lord." If your deck has a lot of flow cards in it, it's awesome. If not, there's no point in using it. The ability cost does seem too low though. I think it should either costs 3 or 4 mana or it should tap to use the ability. I vote YES.

Obsessed Wizard: There are several issues I have with this card. First of all, I think the costs contains too much blue for Irindu. Secondly, it has first strike, which doesn't belong to blue. Finally, +1/+0 and -1/-0 counters are all but dead in the world of Magic (as in they don't make cards that use them any more). If the cost is changed to 2U, the first strike is removed, and the counters are changed to +1/+1 and -1/-1, I would like it a lot better. However, I feel that these changes deviate too far from the original, so I vote NO.

Sphinx of the Flow: I know that Xander574 really wants to put this in as an uncommon, but I think we should give it a chance as a rare first (since that's what it was submitted as). If the community likes it as a rare, we should keep it as a rare. If the community doesn't like it as a rare, THEN we can put it in an uncommon slot. Small adjustments in both the regular and flow costs can make it feel more rare if it gets the community's votes. I vote YES.

mistergreen527 says... #5

Flow's Servant: I love this card. The cost could possibly be reduced, since the last ability implies you will keep replaying it. The other thing I was wondering is if in the last ability, should returning it be part of the cost? Doing this would make it able to save itself at basically split second speed. What do you guys think? Either way, I vote YES.

Viscous Plasma: I think this may be my favorite creature that was submitted. I vote YES.

Rhyne-Delta Sphinx: I think the last ability costs too much blue for Irindu. Also, if we give any instant or sorcery a low flow cost, the last ability is just broken. Finally, we're letting the flow cost be played even if the card isn't being drawn? I vote NO.

Overburdened Mage: The amount of blue on this card needs to be reduced. Also, with a name like that, there's no need for this to be Legendary. With these small changes, the card is alright, but I like others better. Because of this, I vote NO.

Enchantments:

Flood Season: Could help, could hurt. It's scope of playability seems low though, so I vote NO.

Flow of Nature: I love how this card helps you get to your flow cards before your draw step. However, this should be a green Irindu card, not blue. I vote NO.

Exhaustive Research: I know I'm becoming a broken record, but that mana cost has way too much blue for a set focused on multicolored. Other than that, I like how it encourages using flow, but it seems weird that it effects all players the same way. I'd consider making it only benefit yourself. With these changes, I vote YES.

Labour's Fruit: I love Rhystic Study and this is an even better version. Even though Rhystic Study is a common and this is a rare, this may be too good. I think the mana cost needs to be increased. Or, maybe the controller has to pay 1 for each card draw. Playtesting will tell. I vote YES.

Relapse Void: The ability doesn't scream Irindu, but I don't know if this would really belong on any of the other blue shards either. Everything about it seems fair, so I vote YES.

Shapeshifter Essecne: Tons of potential. Probably my favorite enchantment that was submitted. I vote YES.

Flowstorm: This feels like one of those cards you can't wait to play, especially for a blue player. It adds a cantrip to all of their counters. It may be too powerful, so the cost may need an increase. I only barely like this better than Flood Season, so it gets the YES.

August 6, 2010 7:31 p.m.

mistergreen527 says... #6

Instants/Sorceries:

Mental Block: Probably my favorite instant/sorcery submission. If it seems too underpowered, we could always have it affect all opponents and last until your next upkeep. I vote YES.

Flowing Thoughts: Wsy too underpowered in its current state for a rare. I say we either decrease the cost to one blue, or change the two cards to three cards. It has potential, so I vote YES.

Bagan's Trickery: I have a couple of possible adjustments. First of all, should the 0/2 effect happen first so that it is possible to turn two creatures into 0/2s? Secondly, should the 0/2 creature also lose its abilities? This card has a lot of possibilities and feels like Irindu. I vote YES.

Time Scramble: I see this card as a more expensive Ponder that has cascade. Shuffling twice on one card also rubs me the wrong way. I vote NO.

Thought Storm: I would really like to have a card that can only be cast using flow. I'm not sure that this should get shuffled back into the library though. Other than that, I vote YES.

Unblock the Mind: Lands aren't cast. Because of this, they can't have alternative costs. It's still possible to have this do something similar by revealing the four cards, then drawing an additional card for each revealed Island, but I think that's too wordy. Also, the cost seems too high and has too much blue (you know I was gonna say it). I vote NO.

Bagan's Waterfall: I really like this card, but the wording is a little tricky. Do they get to draw a card for playing the card without paying its cost or no? With some clarification, I vote YES.

What do you guys think? Let me know which cards you agree with me on and if you disagree, what's your counter-argument?

Hello, finally they have reprinted fetchlands! I'm very happy but I don't if now it's time to buy or wait until the release of KoT. Also I would like to ask what kind of fetches(I mean colours) I should buy, I expect to have about 200$ to spend for them during these months. Thanks for your answers!:)

I would like to buy Flooded and Delta for now, do you think that they'll reprint zendikar fetchlands on the next expansion?

September 2, 2014 4:50 a.m.

No, no they won't. It would mean that one colour has more land access than the other.

September 2, 2014 5:52 a.m.

mckin says... #25

I fully expect zen reprints in the last set, since you know, they specifically said theyre printing all 10 lajds of each cycle in the blocks

September 2, 2014 9:44 a.m.

@Femme_Fatale What do you mean by that? All the colors would have equal land access with all ten fetches.

September 2, 2014 9:47 a.m.

KrosanTusker says... #27

Enemy-colour pairs have pain lands from M15. With ally fetches, this is balanced.

September 2, 2014 9:59 a.m.

Right, I forgot about painlands. It still seems strange to print weird half-cycles after what they've said about it.

Standard was fine before with the fastlands from Scars making mana unbalanced, or so I think.

September 2, 2014 10 a.m.

KrosanTusker says... #29

Also, buy now. They are a new card (for Modern) that will make an immediate impact and be sought after by every Modern player out there. Get them as soon as you can; particularly U/W.

September 2, 2014 10:03 a.m.

KrosanTusker says... #30

Reply to comment 14: Wizards are printing more lands to make mana fixing easier. They take the view that the game is more fun when you can cast spells, which makes sense. To this end, we're going into a Standard with 10 scry lands, 5 fetches, 5 pain lands, 5 tri lands and Mana Confluence , as opposed to, say, 5 fast lands and ten check lands (as in Scars/Innistrad Standard).

September 2, 2014 10:09 a.m.

mckin says... #31

Or dont buy them now, I would bet my ons fetches that prices drop 1-2months into release vs what the preorder price is. Theyre rares not mythics, and already will caus more boxes to be opened. Sure if you need a set for a big modern event go ahead but otherwise save money and wait

September 2, 2014 1:31 p.m.

KrosanTusker says... #32

I think they'll go up. Preorder prices expect a huge influx of supply, which will happen, but don't take into account the massive demand which will quickly increase once players start testing with them.

September 2, 2014 5:07 p.m.

ZSensei90 says... #33

Where I can find fetches at good price? Do you have some sites which you can recommend?
