Three Dog, Galaxy News DJ + Anointed Procession interaction?

Asked by TitanWalls 3 months ago

For this scenario, when I double the amount of auras I create from Three Dog's triggered ability, do the extra copies from Anointed need to enter equipped to the same targets, or can I choose new targets for the copies and, say, equip all of the doubles to Three Dog (assuming he's also attacking)?

I think based on Three Dog's wording, all of the Aura copies would enchant each other attacking creature.

Whoops. Yes, I couldn't attach them to Three Dog, but could I attach all of the doubled copies to any of the other attacking creatures?

Regardless, I'm asking whether it's the case that the secondary aura copies from anointed procession can choose new targets independent of Three Dog's triggered ability restriction. If that is how it works, then they could all be attached to Three Dog, yes?

As far as I know, I think the additional copies from Anointed Procession would still enchant the other attacking creatures.

I'm going to call on more knowledgeable rules folks like wallisface, Rhadamanthus, & Gidgetimer to weigh in to give you a moe definitive answer.

I second Crow_Umbra’s ruling on the matter, the way I read it each other attacking creature will end up with 2 copies of the aura.

However, i’d wait till this set is actually released, as there’s good odds gatherer will have some kind of specific clarification-ruling for this (hopefully)

The replacement effect from Anointed Procession doesn't change anything about the tokens you are creating besides doubling the number. Each copy will enchant the same creature as the one causing it to be made.
