putting "on to the battlefield" on opponent's side
Asked by LordArazeal 9 years ago
this is a question i've been unsure about for some time. ill give a couple examples of the effect in play. if i have Golem Foundry
out, with a bunch of charge counters, can I put use the counters to make a golem for my opponent?
in a more scary way, can Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker use his ability to give a creature to an opponent? (namely Leveler ))
theres a lot of cards that dont specify that you put whatever it is down on your side of the field, but I could see that as just being assumed.
i've also heard that it is possible, but whatever you give is still "owned" by you, but "controlled" by the opponant

No. Whenever a token is created it enters the battlefield on the side of the controller of the effect that created the token.
@Devonin Technically it is controller of the source. This matters if the source has changed control because of Perplexing Chimera . The owner of the source is usually the controller but it can change. Just nitpicking but it can come up sometimes.

Right, if you control the source (say from the Chimera) then it is your source which put the thing onto the battlefield. You read "owner" into a statement which didn't say owner.

No. Unless it specifies otherwise (like Akroan Horse ), all tokens enter the battlefield under the control of the player whose source created the token.
