Isshin, Two Heavens as One & Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia  Meld  Meld

Asked by Swebb87 1 year ago

Isshin, Two Heavens as One is in play as my commander & I manage to meld Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia  Meld  Meld. When Mishra attacks, do I copy three of the six options that I pick, therefore getting two instances (targets) of 3 options. Or, do I get to pick all six, one instance (target) of each option? Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty new to this game, so this may be wrong, but I think you would get two instances of picking three.

Yeah, you get two instances of picking three.

Isshin says that Mishra's ability triggers twice, meaning the whole things happens twice.

This is different from copying the ability. If you create a copy of an ability that's already on the stack (like with Strionic Resonator), you're locked into the same modes that were chosen when the ability was put onto the stack.

The same logic applies with spells. If you copy a card and cast the copy, you may choose modes as you wish. But if you create a copy of a modal spell that's on the stack, your copy has the same modes.

Thanks, so I can pick the same three twice? Or I could pick two modes twice and then have two separately selected ones (one from each bank of 4)?

Yep, you can. As long as it triggers twice, you can choose each trigger's options without any additional restrictions.
