A) Yes. Any amount of damage from a source with deathtouch is enough to destroy it. Note that it does deal damage to itself.
B) When a source with life link deals damage it causes it's controller (or owner if it has no controller) to gain that much life. In this case, you'll gain 1 life for each creature and each player. Note that if you activate the ability X times, you'll still only gain 1 life for each creature (as they'll all be destroyed the first time the ability resolves), but you'll gain X life for each player.
