Does a pinging creature with deathtouch kill?

I have a Niv-Mizzet, Parun deck, and I'm wondering whether if I equip a Basilisk Collar , I can kill whatever Niv pings. If this would work, it would be obnoxiously good.

Yes.

"Deathtouch is a static ability that causes a creature to be destroyed as a result of having been dealt damage by a source with deathtouch."

Yes, lifelink also works with any damage dealt by the source, not just combat damage.
