Imo, if every color had access to counterspells, the game would stall more frequently and be a more boring/less active game. Mark Rosewater talks a lot about why they utilize the color pie, and aside from themes and mechanics one of the driving ideas is to keep the game fun and engaging. If every color did everything, the game itself would be less fun and engaging, and I'd argue deckbuilding would be the same. I also really liked what FormOverFunction said - not every color may have word for word counterspells but each color has its own access to counterplay, removal, etc.

If anyone has been here for a while and is seeing my umpteenth version of a bant populate commander, I'm sorry but I will never stop lol. The blue in their color identity operates as a clone but it also gives you much more power/flexibility when using cards like Cackling Counterpart which make token copies of your own creatures. I want a commander like this so bad but I don't think WOTC will ever give me one ):

Crow_Umbra I haven't had a chance to playtest Wake the Dead yet but I have always wanted to find a good home for Inkshield so I'll have to test it and see how it plays, great suggestions as always.

Afterlife Insurance and Ophiomancer are at the top of my switch in list, as of now I'm on the side of extra fodder because the decks needs a lot to work. Your Gorgussy deck was also great inspo for some exciting group drain triggers!

Hi all, I know Brenard replaces power and toughness when turning a creature into a token, so a / PT creature for example becomes a 1/1 but what about Tarmogoyf? Since it says plus is this ability still in effect?

Oooooo boy thank you for this prompt! I was instantly inspired to make Yubaba into a MTG card. She's such a unique character, I really enjoyed translating her role in the film into these two abilities, and figring out how to get them to interact. Most fun card I have created in a while.
