Theres a lot of hand disruption, could be worth cutting down on some of that for a bomb like Liliana of the Veil or Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. Also could be worth looking at Case of the Stashed Skeleton instead of Grim Tutor.

Weekly Results:

Mono G: ❌✅✅

Amalia: ❌❌

Dimir Phoenix: ❌✅✅

Lost every game where my deck didn’t get off the ground (and against Amalia bc that deck is insane). Dimir Phoenix was won by switching out of combo mode & beating down with Mosswood Dreadknight, Sentinel of the Nameless City & Sheoldred, the Apocalypse.

Note to self & others: a hand of three lands, one Raffine's Informant and two Witherbloom Commands is not keepable. No route to Fang :p

Xtough You made so many valid points! I have a hard time choosing my fav mechanics for this deck (adhd lmao). But your comment made a lot of sense when i read it. So, probably I should have one separate deck for each sheoldred instead of having them together. I will explore this thought for sure.

I actually ordered Wound Reflection a few days past and wanted to incorporate it into this deck!

What other cuts ✂️ do you see for this deck if I want to focus on Sheoldred, the Apocalypse?

Should have maybe have less recursion and more drawing ?

Thank you very much for all your comments!!

mooffalosystema i have played a load of competitive mill, winning tourney with it, and know full-well the ins-and-outs of competitive play.

If you do the math on Mind Funeral you’ll find that it is absolutely terrible when compared to almost all other 2-and-3 mana mill spells. There’s a very good reason no competitive builds ever run that card.

Indiscriminate discard is always worse than being able to target and remove the card that actually poses a threat. There will be a bunch of games where Inquisition is only able to grab the cards the opponent doesn’t really card about. Not being able to grab a Sheoldred, the Apocalypse or Scion of Draco or Murktide Regent or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is a massive mistake when these are all very-commonly seen threats.

Your assessment of Lazotep Plating baffles me. It only temporarily stalls some combo decks, and feels negligible anywhere else. I think Storm is the only deck that would ever need to be cautious of this card, and nobodies playing Storm atm anyway cause it’s bad. If your local playgroup somehow validates this cards existence, it’s still only a sideboard card at-best (and even then, a terrible one - there’s sooo many better options!).

Several of these definitely fit into the budget problem lol. As much as I'd love a top or Hatred I need to either find someone to trade with or pull it myself. And I'm not opening many packs of Exodus. Looks like a good include if I could get my hands on it though.

Peer into the Abyss was a card I was waffling back and forth on including. I thought It might be a little too much life loss, but that was before I pulled Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, definitely looking to include it now, didn't think about the combo Potential.

And in general I don't like running combo pieces that aren't useful outside of a combo. Leshrac's Sigil is definitely in that category, If I have a combo I'd rather it flow more naturally with the deck

I suppose I'm at the hardest stage of deckbuilding. Figuring out what to cut and actually getting the funds for all these great cards. Thanks for the suggestions

I have a similar build, and love navigating Mari. Opponents never see her coming. I don't run Dauthi though, as it's counter-productive to Mari's hit counters. Maybe think of Ravenloft Adventurer, as hit counters still count with removal even without Mari on the board. I also run Dictate of Erebos, Necropotence, Bitterblossom, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse for the extra removal and recursion bonus.

Have fun when you do build it, it's a blast!
