So I actually built a Food Chain deck finally. I ended up going 5c with Tazri. It is fast and gross. I love it.

Answer: Don't lend stuff. Lend while obtaining things of equivalent value. For example, take her wallet if they want to borrow it for the night, But never let people leave with your stuff unless you get a written record.

You should build this alongside Karador, King of the Actual Hatebears.

Thalia, glowrider, wingmare, sphere of resistance, anything that affects noncreature spells means that if you cast things with sunforger, you still have to pay the extra mana.
601.2e The player determines the total cost of the spell. Usually this is just the mana cost. Some spells have additional or alternative costs. Some effects may increase or reduce the cost to pay, or may provide other alternative costs. Costs may include paying mana, tapping permanents, sacrificing permanents, discarding cards, and so on. The total cost is the mana cost or alternative cost (as determined in rule 601.2b), plus all additional costs and cost increases, and minus all cost reductions. If the mana component of the total cost is reduced to nothing by cost reduction effects, it is considered to be 0. It cant be reduced to less than 0. Once the total cost is determined, any effects that directly affect the total cost are applied. Then the resulting total cost becomes locked in. If effects would change the total cost after this time, they have no effect.

I would add in a Leyline of the Void as it will protect you against eldrazi.

I would say that Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is actually an awesome example of the Yu-gi-oh issue.
He is an awesome walker because he makes guys to protect himself, can hit people by himself, and has a built in anthem effect. he has always been a solid card.
The problem lies with printing a card like Heart of Kiran. It is pretty ok. Not a stellar card on its own. But good.
The problem lies with both of them existing together. Plus gideon, remove a counter to turn on Heart, swing with both. On your turn, remove a counter to also block with heart. It is a small price to pay to always have up a 4/4 blocker with flying that punches people and can work in tandem with the only walker in the deck. Not truly oppressive, but very, very strong synergy that really should have been viewed over beforehand.

The tax effects are bad for sunforger because you still have to pay them.

Yeah. Powerful food chain prossh decks have an avg cmc of 2 or less. Anything above that just slows the decks consistency. and familiar is not worth it non of the lieutenants are.

Bear Umbra can come out unless you are running Aggravated Assault. Just some ideas. I am also playing a food chain deck in my meta, which is a bit more competitive, decks like Azami, Derevi stax, and Yidris storm.
I would also run a better spread of removal, cards like Krosan Grip and even just cheap, efficient removal like Fatal Push or even Chain Lightning. Have to have ways to answer Nevermore, Meddling Mage and Angel of Jubilation. I know you don't need to worry about the last one for food chain, but for effects like prossh.
Also, work on cutting down your cmc. Cards like in garruk's wake are way too slow and inefficient.

I would say run more rocks. Even in green, you need them. And where is all the ramp? I see 4 spells and 5 rocks. You need at least 35 land and 15 total ramp cards whether those are spells, dorks (which work great in this deck with food chain) or rocks. Your cmc is really high. I like the deck idea, Prossh food chain is an awesome deck, but you need to bring the cmc down a bit and the ramp up. Your goal should be to cast prossh with food chain out and purphoros and just win immediately

Yeah actually, because you don't really need more than a couple of mana to do well. Plus you don't need to worry about Blood Moon. I rather like the list. But our local LGS has a guy who works there who runs Merfolk so our 2 ponza players each run 2 chokes in the board. That and we have some UB controls and a mono-blue tron guy too. But most of our meta is some form of Zoo, with 1 Jund guy and a even and an Esper Ad Naus.
