Deckling -

I live and work in Birmingham, England. In the distant past I have been both a journalist and an English teacher, but I now work at a university where I play with statistics.

I started playing Magic around the time Ice Age came out, but only really with a couple of school mates. On reflection, we weren't all that good at the game. I bought the odd starter deck and some boosters, but my pool of cards from back then is pretty small really. I stopped playing just after the Urza's block and, following a long break, got back into the game a few weeks before Return to Ravnica. Now I am hooked on the game and considerably poorer. On the plus side, I own a lot of very colourful cardboard!

So far, I have mostly been drafting and, more recently, playing Standard at FNM. I've built a couple of Modern combo decks, but haven't had a chance to try them out in competitive play yet.
