Hello Everyone!

I'll tell you a bit about myself. My name is Hunter, I'm from the heart of it all Ohio! I'm a nursing student at the amazing Wright State University, and Magic the Gathering has been my passion since my senior year of high school! I love all things Modern and I often do a lot of drafting! I prefer more competitive playing then casual but I like a game of EDH every now and again!

Budget isnt really an issue because id rather build it right then build it quickly so ill buy them as i can. I have stores around me that sell cards as well as can get them online, so getting them inst a problem either. My plan for this deck was to get my big creatures out as fast as possible and beat down the opponent with shear brute force.

Hello Everyone! I've been doing very well with U/W God-Pharoah's Gift lately! Well enough to pay for a PTQ entry at no cost to me! I'm confident in my list but i know its not perfect! All criticism and advice is appreciated!!!

I REALLY need help shoring up the UG Pummeler matchup because it has been HORRENDOUS for me!!

Here is my Deck!

Thanks ahead of time and wish me luck!!

I have a few questions for you!

No Natural Order + Craterhoof Behemoth? I like having I win buttons in 4 player games especially

And is cradle worth it in this deck? Seems like there is nothing to really do with the abundance of mana.

Sundial is also good with Flickerwisp to keep things exiled forever!

Hey I seen your post on my deck! Thanks for the comment and upvote!

So a couple questions for you. Are you happy with this deck? Is it fun to you? If so, then I wouldn't worry about trying other tron variants! It's hard to find a deck that you love and can stick to!

Otherwise, comparing Mono Blue Tron to G/x Tron.

Mono Blue Tron

Pros:

not as reliant on tron

allows for slightly more interactive play by interacting with cards on the stack using counterspells

Cheaper than G/x tron

Cons:

Less powerful than G/x tron

Doesn't get near as many free wins as G/x tron

Mono blue doesn't have access to more powerful sideboard cards such as Rest in Peace like a GW tron deck would

Mana base is less consistent than G/x tron. Being mana screwed happens more often in Blue tron

Doesn't play Karn Liberated on turn 3.

Is more of a "meta" deck and can't easily adjust to metas like G/x tron can.

G/x Tron

Pros:

Turn 3 Karn gets plenty of free wins which is important in a format as linear as modern.

More consistent in getting tron online and playing threats.

More customizable than Mono blue tron

Plays more powerful cards

Access to a larger variety of powerful sideboard cards. White gets Rest in Peace, Timely Reinforcements etc. Red gets Pyroclasm, Lightning Bolt etc. Black gets Thoughtseize, Collective Brutality, etc.

There is a lot more sideboard guides, matchup guides, gameplay, primers, and other content available for G/x tron over Mono Blue tron.

Can adapt to nearly any meta

Cons:

Slightly more expensive. (Only slightly because Chalice of the Void is actually ridiculous)

G/x tron is more reliant on tron

G/x tron can be less interactive than Mono blue tron altogether (More linear gameplay)

Please remember this is one guy's analysis and opinion of the two variants! Many may disagree with me! I've only played G/x tron variants and I've done well with them! Take this information as you will and make your decision! Hope this was helpful!

So, after a couple weeks of Pondering and Brainstorming for a solution, I've decided to trade part of my paper collection to get back to playing on MTGO. In my current busy college schedule (Junior Nursing Student) I've little time to play paper magic and in the free time I do have it would be much easier to just log onto MTGO rather then traveling somewhere to play 4 rounds.

So here it is! My GB Tron deck!

I'm looking to trade for MTGO tix or MTGO cards I want/need. I WILL NOT BE TRADING PAPER CARDS FOR PAPER CARDS!!! Remember I'm looking to move away from paper.

Thank you for looking and good luck in "outnerding" nerds like me! ;)
