while im guessing you're trying to avoid using the usual suspect powerhouses it may be rather tough to close the game out with so few creatures in the deck. The deck seems like it wants to control its way to a finisher but if you get wiped it looks like it would be hard to recover. i'd consider a scarab god even though im trying to avoid using him myself in builds to stray from his ever consistent presence in standard right now. I'd at least consider going down a few or all Perilous Voyage for Supreme Will or Duress to protect the ones you do have out

Not a bad build, certainy has the powerhouses b/u likes to use to gain advantage but yea i would cut the Fell Flagships without enough low drop pirates to make a big impact as i feel there are more productive things you could do on turn 3 and add more removal or discard to the main. I'd also consider Supreme Will over Lookout's Dispersal for some extra options over just a counter. A Vraska's Contempt or 2 would be nice for the mirror to deal with other scarab gods and pesky planeswalkers too in the side or possibly even main

upon further testing i do believe Walking Ballista would be a nice addition if you have the budget for it over pretty much any choice of 2 drops you'd like to replace. probably going to end up switching colors to try for a BUG control over RUG for discard effects like Duress and Bontu's Last Reckoning over damage spells

while i definitely agree the low drops arent very impactful, the wide factor is mostly what the deck wants to do with them. I only actually hard cast them if i need something on the board to trade or chump until i can lock in the combo. i used to have Scrapheap Scrounger but not being able to block got it cut when i went with green for Narnam Cobra and Prowling Serpopard and alas the trigger from the graveyard doesnt happen due to it entering and not technically being cast. I took an almost identical list to FNM tonight and went a surprising 3-1. the deck seems about tier 2 due to the clunkiness of the pieces but the raw power the combo yields is a force to be reckoned with as its basically wipe the board and win or dont and lose from the opponent.

ive since updated the deck to a temur type build since control decks are popping up quite a bit to have access to Prowling Serpopard also Narnam Cobra to better defend against larger creatures and Heroic Intervention for wipes

I should also mention that while the combo does take quite a few slots from the deck, the remaining ones can be filled with any color you'd prefer. 17-18 2 drop artifact creatures, 4 arcane adaptation, and 3-4 unesh with a recommended 24 lands, leaving 10-12 slots for whatever cards you feel best protect or ramp into unesh.I usually like to devote a few to fireweaver/bontu's monument for a possible insta-kill but isnt completely necessary if your opponent doesnt wipe the board the following turn.
